We have 6 of these at the office. During the big rains in the SF Area our power went out. They worked great.
I like a product that works as advertised and I don't have to think about it. For others the product is best when it isn't too complicated.

Please be aware that the amber night light, when on, is very bright.
Also, when electrical power is interupted to this unit, it is the amber night light that stays on. You must slide the switch on the side of the unit by hand to change to the white flashlight. On several other brands, it is the night light that goes off and the bright white light that comes on automatically when power is interupted.

I can't say enough about these. I bought the first several years ago for the main bathroom, and it has served its purpose reliably through a number of power outages (although I should warn you that it lasts only about 6 hours... if you have a 60 hour outage like we had a couple years ago, you'll want a "standard flashlight" handy). A couple months ago I bought 3 more to make sure other parts of the house had lighting at night, and they've also served us well (although, fortunately, we've not had any power outages since the 10 hour one from Christmas Eve into Christmas day... but such is life in the suburbs of Chicago). I've just ordered 3 more so I have these reliable units available when I discover where else I'd like one. Of the ones I've looked at, these seem to work best.

I bought one of these as an emergency light for a bathroom. Since it's based on LED technology it's not incredibly bright at night, but it works for me. Also LED has the benefits of low power consumption, making the light last several hours in case of power failure.

The built-in flaslight is good, so all in all, I would recommend this product to everyone.

As a new mommy, I use these nightlights to be able to see when I'm up for nighttime feedings, etc. They are the perfect amount of light to see what you're doing and the lighting is soft enough that it doesn't wake the baby all the way up. The flashlight comes in handy during power outages and if you need actual light.

These Leviton lights have worked great for me. I use one as a night light and power failure light in a child's bedroom. In the master bedroom, I use one as a power fail light only. This is possible because there is a slide switch on the side that allows you to choose modes. The night light is a warm amber color which has just the right output for lighting a hallway or bedroom. The flashlight is good for finding one's way into or out of a darkened space or performing tasks such as resetting a breaker but is not a particularly wide beam so it might limit more general uses. The plug prongs can fold flat into the body which may be useful if you want to travel with it. I live in earthquake country so having these in a few locations around the house gives me extra peace of mind.

Our place in the mountains loses power frequently in the winter months, especially after heavy snow.

The cost of this items makes it worthwhile to buy several. I have one in each room, but only use the night light function in my young son's bedroom. I haven't tested the longevity of the flashlight feature, but it's a bright, single LED that's adequate for getting around at night when there's no power.

It's not a big deal for me, but please note that the night light is amber colored. The picture leads one to believe that it's a white/clear light.

Will buy more for our main home.

This power failure night light is an excellent well designed product. It is a LED light that is economical to use because it has a light sensor which turns off the night light during the day and gives out a soft warm glow at night. I have two in my hallway and a third one in my bathroom. I took one to my daughter and her husband when I visited them in their new home. We placed it in my bedroom where it gave enough light to help me see where I was going when I got up in the night--without tripping over a cat. (The light didn't interfere with my sleep.) I have since sent three of these lights to them from Amazon.

It's a rechargeable flashlight which does two (not three) things: 1) turn on a yellow night light when it's dark, 2) turn on a white light all the time. It runs from a rechargeable battery, so it does these two things whether or not there is AC power being provided. To me, "power failure light" means that a light turns on when the power fails, but this product does not do that.

It works pretty well, but I am very surprised at how yellow the light is. I purchased this to replace a 5 year old white power failure night light that died and am still trying to get use to the yellow color.

I recommend it since it does what I want.
