This is a great product for a large window and the rubber ends help it stay in place great. The only problem I had was sagging in the middle. I took a white hook and screwed it into the middle of my window and slipped the middle of the rod over the hook to prevent sagging. It sounds crazy, but it works great and actually looks great too.

This item arrived poorly packaged. The rod was sticking out of the end of the brown paper packaging, and become bent during shipping. I would have returned it for this reason, but only need it to last for a few months as a temporary measure. Even so, this rod is very flimsy. You need to tighten or loosen a screw to adjust the tension, and this took a bit of trial and error to get adjusted to the right length. However, hanging a very light weight curtain from it, it keeps falling down. Would not recommend.

Purchase was a complete waste of money and time. Supposed to arrive in two days but took over a week. I then spent at least half an hour trying to install the rod with a curtain which I bought off Amazon but the rod was not strong enough to hold up the curtain. The only reason why I bought this rod is because I have three consecutive windows and this rod is one of the few that fit the dimensions. However, I would have been better served not buying the rod and using my money on anything else.

I bought a set of these to hang new curtains in my apartment. They are very nice to look at and have the added bonus of extendability. However, they are cheaply constructed. The curtains I bought, weighing at most a pound, bent the rod in the middle when it was extended, and the curtains came down. Each rod I tried, a total of six, had this issue.
I am very disappointed with such a good company as Levolor producing a product that has such shoddy workmanship. Buy elsewhere.

I purchased this rod solely because I was having trouble finding ones that would extend to the length of my bedroom window, but unless you have very light curtains, you're better off looking for a different type of tension rod. I only had two curtain panels hanging (light and sound blocking, so they were a little heavy) and it was a bit of a headache putting it up and getting it to actually stay up.

Works great,

The rod I bought (not through Amazon) was missing instructions so I was confused at first about how to adjust the tension, the loose spring did not make sense to me :) But after my husband pointed out that the screw part moves instead of the spring needing to be connected to something it made sense. It took a few tries to get the size right (about 1/2 inch longer than the window opening) but then it was snug and strong. I hung 4 semi-sheer cafe tier panels in a 59" opening with no sagging in the middle. This was with the A7004213353 48" - 86" size.

This is a basic tension rod fine for my specific application holding light weight curtains. The quality is average, but this would not hold heavy curtains well.

It came later than it should have but I wasn't that worried about that. I have a window that I found it difficult to find a rod to fit because it's window w/ a seat & the way the wall is - nothing more decorative fit right. It came in a flat box & I didn't even know what it was at first. There were absolutely no instructions - at all. I had to read some of the reviews to find out how to make it fit. There is significant sagging in the center & they aren't heavy curtains at all. I used white medical tape to secure the part where it was sagging & used a white hook & that helped some but it isn't really what I was looking for. The window is such an odd shape & size that I was relived to actually find something to fit only to have it be a cheap looking, sagging disappointment that came with no instructions. Not at all what I was hoping for. :(

I live in a rental and this curtain rod works in my baby's nursery. It does sag in the middle, so you will want to include an additional support in the middle.

I bought this product to hang a blackout liner behind my already installed curtains. The rod itself is cheap and none too sturdy when extended. I wouldn't recommend purchasing this tension rod if you intend to hang any heavy drapery. Its really only fit for window sheers. The sagging in the center was pretty intense, so I found some white fabric medical tape and folded it over so that there was no adhesive showing and used that to brace the rod by tacking the ends of the tape to the wall... hey, don't judge me! It's holding it up!
Anyway, if you intend to hang drapes or blackout liners, you're better off going to your local shopping center for this. Unless you have materials on-hand to deal with how cheaply this product is made, it will be a waste of money. |
