The size given is wrong. I have it set down to its minimum and it is 82 inches long. Luckily this is OK in my window. I did not check the maximum. The rod is in 3 pieces. At its shortest none of the middle section is showing and it's 82 inches long.

The rod is attractive but the brackets are not. I am used to brackets that are more finished-looking. These are not meant to be seen but that would unavoidable I think. If you look closely at the picture you will see that the brackets are strictly functional. Also there is a very small portion that affixes to the wall. There are 2 nail holes but they are so close together I felt I was better off only driving one anchor.

With so many good reviews of Levolor rods, I was surprised at what I got. Four years ago I bought similar size rods that came with nice-looking brackets which were a full circle to contain the rod as well as having a set screw to keep them from sliding. Those brackets had an oval about 1 inch by 3 inches that went against the wall for a secure and attractive installation. I am sorry now that I left them in the house I just sold. I did not know it would be impossible to find satisfactory replacements. I kept these because I've looked all over the place and can't find what I want at the price I want.
