Product Description

If Lewis Labs 100% Pure Premium Imported Brewers Yeast is not part of your daily nutritional habit, it should be. Brewers yeast is one of the most perfect foods known. Loaded with proteins, minerals and vitamins, it is amazing how much food value is packed into even a small amount. It provides the protein you want without the extra calories and cholesterol you dont. Since it is low in fat, carbohydrates, sodium and calories, it is especially useful for dieters, vegetarians, diabetics and hypoglycemics. In fact, it seems to have a bounty of nutritional goodness for just about everybody. The microscopic plant, saccharomyces cerevisiae, commonly referred to as brewers yeast, is nutritionally superior to all other types of yeast. It is one of the best natural sources of the entire B-Vitamin complex. It is a superb source of concentrated protein including all the essential amino acids. In fact, brewers yeast contains about ten times as much protein as the same amount of whole-wheat flour. It is extraordinarily rich in nucleic acid, which is a

I have used several brands of brewer's yeast and I personally have found Lewis Labs' brand to be of the highest quality. Two tablespoons supply 190 mcg of chromium, which is essential for hypoglycemics trying to stabilize their blood sugar levels. I have taken this product daily for twenty years with no negative side effects, and I highly recommend it. If you don't like the powdery consistency, you might try Lewis Labs Brewer's Yeast Flakes.

add this to yogurt or milk. It tastes good, and it helps to build your milk supply. It also gives you energy. My mom studied nutrition and told me about this. It works.

I have taken Brewer's Yeast for many years, and the only one I can tolerate the taste of is Lewis Labs' since the yeast is grown on beets. This product provides the B vitamins I have never been able to assimilate. It is an awesome product.

This is the only true product when it comes to Brewer's Yeast...

1. Brewer's yeast does not contain vitamin B12, an essential vitamin found in meat, fish or dairy products. Vegetarians sometimes take brewer's yeast mistakenly believing that it provides B12, but B12 is animal source not vegetable. One tablespoon of Spirulina offers 67% vitamin B12 in comparison to 2% in brewer's yeast but regardless even the spirulina does not have any B12 beneficial to humans. The B12 in spirulina is purely worthless since it is not the needed B12 like in sardines. I consume mainly consume greens as well as salmon, sardines and sprats. Only canned small fish for me, no tuna, no chicken, no beef.
2. Unlike ordinary brewer's yeast which is grown on grain and hops liquor, brewer's yeast which is called nutritional yeast is derived from sugar beets not hops, barley or grain.
3. A good brewer's yeast should be unbleached, untreated, not fortified, not blended, non GMO, nothing added and specify 100% brewer's yeast on the labelling not on their Internet site.
4. One tablespoon of brewer's yeast (15gr) provides me with 70% chromium and 45% selenium. I am into very healthy diet and different sports from mountain biking, surfing, weight lifting, hiking, etc. without any need for any meds for any chronic condition. I do not take any supplements at all since nothing comes close to a balanced diet. Chromium is hard to get due to the depletion of the nutrients in soil.
5. Protein in brewer's yeast just like in any greens is incomplete, missing few amino acids. Only quinoa and soy are complete but soy has estrogen and processed where quinoa is not. I never count on any protein from any source other than pure isolate without any additives or small canned fish.

To be perfectly honest, I never heard of Brewer's yeast until I bought the book "The Best Kept Secret To Permanent Weight Loss" written by Dr.Barnet Meltzer and Jordan Meltzer, company [...] I was a bit leary after reading a couple of the reviews, but after reading a couple of excerpts from the book:

1.) "Brewer's yeast, the preferred form of nutritional yeast, is known for its high concentration of
B vitamins, trace minerals, and essential amino acids. Brewer's yeast is a powerful cleanser of the liver and promotes healthy pancreatic function. This makes brewer's yeast an important super-nutrient for your metaboloism and overall health. Brewer's yeast is a rich source of complete protein, containing all essential amino acids. It is also naturally low in fat and sodium."

2.) "While other forms of nutritional yeast may be equally rich in B vitamins, they can be low in chromium. Therefore, other forms of nutritional yeast are not as effective as brewer's yeast in aiding weight loss."

3.) "Brewer's yeast is not related to Candida albicans fungus, which causes yeast infection."

I have to admit when I first read the word "Yeast", yeast infection did come to mind. Just being honest.

So, even though the reviews I read here influenced me at first, I believe a Doctor with 40 years of medical experience is most likely the person who knows what he's talking about.

Hope you find this review helpful,
Laurie,

Four kids in the last five years have apparently depleted me. I was exhausted in the afternoons and felt like I was walking in a complete daze. My mood was awful... I was angry and didn't feel like I could control it. I never took prenatals while pregnant because they made me sick. After doing my research I found Lewis Lab's Brewer's Yeast. Less than two weeks of 1 tablespoon in a 1/4 cup of "not from concentrate" orange juice, twice a day, and I felt absolutely amazing. I wasn't craving foods, walking in a daze or cloud, uncontrollably angry and yelling at my little kids.... I've been able to lose a bit more of my baby weight that wasn't budging. It's been a couple months and I stand by it still! I'm still taking about 1 tablespoon a day and am under control and not ridiculously tired. As long as I take the Brewer's yeast after lunch I don't crave food in the afternoon. I can't speak for this Brewer's Yeast compared to others as I have never before taken another brand however and I can speak to the effectiveness of Lewis Lab's Brewers Yeast. It has solved my problem.
