A good biography of Cass!,

Klunder wrote a very detailed account of the life of Lewis Cass and the state of Michigan. Cass's moderate views on slavery expansion are well explained. I also learned a lot about the Seminole wars in my home state of Florida. I have been reading about the Secretaries of State but the book only covered Cass being Secretary in one chapter. Overall the bigraphy was excellent.
