This JumpDrive is very cheaply made. I thought it would be great to purchase a JumpDrive that swiveled closed when not in use. Unfortunately, the whole thing is plastic and is very difficult to open and close. Additionally, the USB connection is very thin plastic and can easily break. I am very disappointed with this purchase.

I thought this would be a great buy seeing the price in comparison to the amount of space it holds. It helps that I bought it on sale from Target to get my 5% to make the deal that much sweeter. Well you get what you pay for right? Wrong. I might have spent less money on it, but it no longer works after only having it for two months. I will list out all the factors about why this is a bad purchase.

* Very cheap plastic on the outside. It snaps apart easily and much easier than it should. The right bump can cause it to open.
* The USB ports after two months no longer recognize this jumpdrive. So much for 32 GB of space.
* Random write issue. If you want to fix it and try to reformat as your computer will likely recommend, you will notice that it says write protected most of the time and will not allow you to do so. That is only if it lets you get that far.
* Data corruption. Assuming you manage to get past the other issues, it will randomly corrupt data. I only use mine for school work and that meant things I typed personally using Open Office. I could understand if I put it in to download suspicious files, but I am very careful about the websites I go to. I refuse to even use facebook.

So while the sleek design, rounded edges, and swivel might make it seem like a great deal, I would recommend spending a little more to get a better product. If you have to by replacements, it will only be more expensive in the long-run.

So cheaply made it lasted about 5 hours before it just failed to work anymore. I moved about 1 gig of files from one machine to another before it failed to be recognized by any usb port it was put into; in fact the power light doesn't even come on.

I thought I got a great deal for a 64G thumb drive. That is, until I noticed the whole thing was made of very thin cheap plastic. I should have known better than to put anything of value unto it. Sure enough, less than one month after purchase, it is useless to me. I am desperately trying to get it at just the right angle to dump all my files on another hard drive so I can chuck the thing. I really hope I don't have to pay someone to retrieve them for me, but I guess that's what I get for not backing up often enough. Live and learn.

This flash drive worked really well...for about two months. Then it spontaneously broke--the swiveling function wouldn't work anymore, and I couldn't use the USB port in my computer. I called Lexar's customer service about it, and they said that they would replace it for me, but I would need to pay for the shipping to get the defective device they sold me back to them before they'd give me another one. This product is so cheap, I wasn't even sure that I wanted a new one, let alone spend more money on it to send it back to them with insurance and tracking! I had some files on there that I wasn't able to get off the drive since it wouldn't work anymore, and didn't want to send it to them with my personal information on it. Their response was that if I had any valuable information on there, I would need to take it to a computer repair place and pay to have it extracted before sending it in. It seemed like a lot of hoops to jump through just because they make a crappy product, and their customer support was pretty useless. But I guess you get what you pay for.

I do not recommend this flash drive. Yes, it is light and works fast but because it is plastic, it may or may not read. For instance, it did not work on my macbook unless I maneuver it around. But all other metal tips work perfectly fine on my macbook therefore, it is not my macbook. This plastic tip just sucks overall. Metal over plastic.

A nice little drive made mediocre by low quality materials.

It's smaller and twice as fast as the previous year's very popular S73 model, while selling for about the same price. It fits easily in my jeans coin pocket for everyday carry, and I really like the swivel design to keep the plug from collecting lint without a separate cap to lose. It's not the fastest USB 3.0 stick around, but it's pretty good at over 100MB/s read and 50MB/s write, and should be fine for all but really big data copies.

But... it's made entirely of pretty cheap-feeling plastic. Good quality plastic would've been fine, but this feels thin and brittle like it'll crack if you squeeze it a little too hard or bend it a little too much in the socket.

Could be a good value if you like the small convenient size and can take a little care when using it.

Well, while the price is decent for this drive, I did not realize the top was made of plastic before I bought it. Several reviewers have pointed out that the plastic (in general) that makes up most of this drive is of the very cheap variety that feels very thin and flimsy. This, in and of itself is not exactly unique to this drive or even flash drives. Many products these days are made of extremely lightweight and thin plastic that feels like it might break any minute.

I really don't understand this trend when it comes to things that are supposed to last at least a few years. It's not like you're going to use it once and throw it in the trash. I still have the first Sandisk flash drive I ever owned. I would estimate it to be at least 6 years old and it has never missed a beat. If this Lexar lasts half that long, I'll be surprised. Actually, I own about 7 flash drives now and none of them have ever given me any problems. But the plastic they're using to make the casings seems to be getting thinner and (possibly) more brittle all the time. The one drive I have that I expect to last until it's completely obsolete is a Kingston that is made entirely of metal (at least the casing).

Also, one of the reasons I bought this brand and model instead of a Sandisk that was the same price was I liked the swivel design. That was before I used it. The swivel function is just about useless, as it's difficult and very awkward to operate. It takes longer to get it to do what it's supposed to do than it's worth unless you're actually going to put the thing in your pocket. Since I don't carry my flash drives anywhere, I normally don't use caps or whatever mechanism they have that is supposed to protect the tip.
