I know, I know, 32 GB of space in something the size of a pink eraser is amazing. I have a 32 GB SD card too, even smaller. My first hard drive was 20 MB.

But my my first hard drive was a lot faster. I think.

Speed tests show that this drive has a 1 to 3 MB/sec write speed, but nearly a 25 MB/sec read speed. So that means if you use your thumb drive to move data around. Like pictures at your aunts house to take home. Or your friends digital "entertainment" collection to move to your own computer, if you do anything that requires filling the thumb drive and then moving that data off of it...

Then move on and skip this thing, it's a real turd. Better off with a SD card.

If, however, you are going to put something on it and never take it off. Like linux on a USB stick, or if you are archiving something to it that you don't care a lot about, go ahead and get it. 25MB/sec is really pretty good to read from.

But really, this is the worst performing USB key I've used. I won't be buying another Lexar ever. My horrible little Kinsington (they made it so big I can't use the 2nd USB slot) has 3 times the write speed, almost the same read speed, but cost 8 bucks!

This is a nice high capacity drive for the price ($35 on special).
I didn't find the speed to be a problem, I have used smaller capacity brand-name flash drives which were really slow, and it did not seem any slower than some of the other high capacity flash drives I use.
My main problem is with the protective sliding cover. It seems flimsy, unlike other USB flash drives where the USB connector slides into the shell of the flash drive itself.

I found this flash drive to be very effective and stylish as well! The plastic slide cover tends to slide back open on occasion, but overall it's protective. Also, I wouldn't suggest using the key string as an actual key chain, mine fell off after one day. Other than that, it's very portable and a great product.

I own several Lexar's (each a different 32 gb model), & have come to hold them in high regard. This is the slowest one I have ever owned, it took almost 2 hours to transfer around 25 gb on a USB 2 connection.

I use them for music playback, so don't know yet how this will perform on reads & longevity, but with this write speed, I will be hesutant to buy this model again.

Good price for a Lexar, though (maybe due to the speed!)

This memory is really slow, impossible to copy 700MB file, and don't even think to transfer more than 1gb file unless you want to waste a couple of hours transfering it, this is a waste of money

I got one of these when on sale back in December 2011. Less than 30 days later - DEAD (and HOT). So I got a replacement for it (exchange/warranty), and have used it from Feb - last week, when it died. I'm not that hard on USB storage and have various sticks from different Mfg. but perhaps I've been lucky that none have ever failed on me before (and I have at least a half dozen over 4 years old), or maybe this model isn't the greatest in the world. I'd buy something else.

This is a big bang for the bucks spent. What a wonderfully small way to store a large amount of info. Great price.

This is an excellent buy if you have a need to carry around a significant amount of information in your pocket. For example, if you travel a lot this is perfect to use to carry your financial, or other data, that you need while on the road. In addition to using it for data I have found it handy to store pictures taken while on my trips. The slip cover on the device is very handy for protecting the connector. Good buy.
