4.0 out of 5 stars Great little music player
The Lexar JumpGear player is a great buy. I've had it for over a year now and it has been an excellent low-cost alternative to IPods and other super expensive MP3 players. It has good overall sound, great size, is tough against drops, and is extremely lightweight. It can play MP3 and WMA files and well as DRM WMA files after getting a free DRM utility from the Lexar...

1.0 out of 5 stars What!! This does not work right
I have many different flash/usb drives that I use for music, etc.

This chunk of junk only supports the Lexar flashdrives. Forget it.

I got mine from Fry's for $40 and back it goes tomorrow.

This review is from: Lexar JumpGear MPC512-231 MP3 Player with 512 MB JumpDrive Sport (Electronics)
The Lexar JumpGear player is a great buy. I've had it for over a year now and it has been an excellent low-cost alternative to IPods and other super expensive MP3 players. It has good overall sound, great size, is tough against drops, and is extremely lightweight. It can play MP3 and WMA files and well as DRM WMA files after getting a free DRM utility from the Lexar website. Plus the fact that you can interchange USB flash drives into and out of it means there is no real size limit. I myself have two 1GB flash drives and one 512 MB flash drive that are filled with music that I interchange in the player. Also, this serves me the great dual purpose of being able to place all types of files on the drives for carrying between computers. Sure you have to use only Lexar USB drives in the player, but I got my 1GB Lexar JumpDrive Sport from eBay never-used for $4.00 including shipping (yes that says $4.00, not a typo), so I don't see that as a big deal. I would say the only real negative is the lack of a belt clip, which would have helped while jogging. All in all, great no-frills multi-purpose music player for a fraction of the cost of the big boys.
