Product Description

Lexar Media CompactFlash cards are individually speed rated so you know the minimum capability of the card. They use the same rating system used by the CD-ROM industry, where a data transfer rate of 1X equals 150 kilobytes (KB) per second. The higher the speed rating, the faster your camera will be able to write images to the memory card. 4.0 out of 5 stars when my CF card didn't work, Lexar replaced it with no hassle, June 9, 2008

This review is from: Lexar Media CFB4GB-80-380 4 GB Professional Series 80X CompactFlash Card (Personal Computers)
I also own this card and yes it was incompatible with some Canon cameras (like the Canon 20D, 30D, and 5D) and I lost a couple photos. Previously I had used the card flawlessly for 2 years on a Konica Minolta A200 with no problems at all.

I called Lexar and they offered to be send me a replacement for free. It turns out that the Lexar Professional 80x-speed CompactFlash 4GB with the last 4 digits of card edge stamp "A4B6" or "9171" did not work on some Canon cameras.

That is the advantage of the Lexar Pro cards--they replace the cards if there's any problem. No they can't replace your photos, but they do at least fix your card if it is malfunctioning. I sent the card for RMA replacement and got a new card back in 4 days that has worked flawlessly in all the cameras I've put it into. It was easy, I didn't have to wait on the phone more than 3 minutes to get a person to help me.

That's my impression. Take it for what it's worth. I don't usually write reviews but I hope this helps.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good card for the price, January 11, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Lexar Media CFB4GB-80-380 4 GB Professional Series 80X CompactFlash Card (Personal Computers)
I needed more space and I bought this card because it was the best combination of quality, size, and price. I have a 2gb Lexar card that is 133x and it seems a lot faster, especially when transferring files to my computer. This is just my perception, though, I haven't actually run any tests. If the price seems good to you, this is a fabulous card.
