A must have for any kind of serious digital photography,

Nikon supplies a 16mb card with teh coolpix 990, which is hardly enough to store more than a few photographs. This is a great buy, and one can store enough images from the beginning of a part to the end without having to run to your laptop to download the images. Also the fact that it is 8X and USB enabled is a big plus since all you need to do is connect the cable to the computer and you are done. I found that the images were also stored faster on the lexar card. It was faster than a Sandisk in terms of storing the image. I would recommend this as a must have for anybody buying a coolpix.

Buyer beware,

I found out the hard way that if you buy a Lexar card with the jumpshot, only the Lexar card can be read in the Jumpsho. This makes things very difficult if you are using more than one card made by multiple manufacturers. Seems that the Lexar reader will only read Lexar cards. I use multple devices and own a half dozen Compact Flash Cards within an array of manufacturers. The Lexar reader pops up as the most inconvenient of my two readers as a result of this problem. I use multiple computers and each has a reader on it. My thought was the Jumpshot reader with a card was the perfect choice and at the right price. I can't recomend the Lexar product if you use more than one card by multiple manufacturers.

Best Compact Flash on the Market,
By A Customer
This review is from: Lexar Media 64 MB 8X USB CompactFlash Digital Film with Jumpshot Cable (Personal Computers)
Quite simply, this is the best compact flash on the market. It's durable and has extremely fast transfer rates compared to other cards I own.The included Jumpshot reader has blazing speed and makes downloading the images to a computer very simple. I am a professional photographer and won't use anything ut Lexar. My personal testimonal is that I have never lost any images with a Lexar card. Unfortunately, the same can't be said of the SanDisk, Viking and the worst of all, Mr. Flash (garbage). Don't cut corners, you get what you pay for with compact flash.

Lexar Media supplies great film. I have a the 32MB and 64MB and I have had fantastic luck with them. They seem faster than the competition so there is less waiting and more picture taking... The jump shot cable is small and easy to use, with amazing transfer speed! I'm only buying Lexar from now on!

New to digital photography, I assumed all CompactFlash cards were the same, and since the Lexar card included a fairly generous rebate offer, I purchased it. Alas, it's not compatible with the Sandisk reader and program that I purchased with my camera. It comes with its own reader and cable, but who wants to keep alternating cables in the USB port? I'm returning it and sticking with Sandisk until all of these competing formats and manufacturers get their act together.
