5.0 out of 5 stars Speed!
Wow! This puppy is FAST! I've used it in two cameras with great results. It's hard to believe what a difference the 12x speed makes. I'm an old 35mm photographer so I get very frustrated with the 'digital delay' - this card has really helped. I also love all the storage space. Now I don't have to feel like I'm sacrificing speed for space. Lexar has built a great...

1.0 out of 5 stars Have to return it because it's defective
I bought this memory for my Canon PowerShot S50 camera. After a few times of usage, I got "memory error." I switched back to the card that originally came with the camera and everything is fine. I also used the memory reader to write to it and made sure that it's not my camera. Maybe it's bad luck... or maybe the quality is...

5.0 out of 5 stars Very fast, August 19, 2003

I bought this for my new Canon ELPH S-400. Since it is my first digital camera, I did not know much about memory card and I was very happy with the camera along with the Canon CF card included in the package. However, the Canon CF card was only 32MB, so I was looking to buy bigger memory. When I first saw 12X, I cared less for this number. After I read other positive reviews, I decided to give it a try. Wow!! It is fast. Now I know what 12X meant. It does take shorter time(I haven't timed how many seconds) from shot to shot and much faster than Canon CF card to erase unwanted shot. I love it and I am going to buy 16X next time.

I've got 2 of these cards and they have worked without a single problem. The 12x speed is also convenient -- when I am taking pictures with my Canon PowerShot A60 (2 MP), my camera can take a picture every 2 seconds (the reasoning to get a 12x over a 4x card). Downloading has been easy and has gone without a single error. The quality seems very good.

Also, keep an eye on Amazon -- the price changes a lot, so look for the best deal! Amazon is the cheapest place I found to get this card.

I have a canon digital camera and was always running out of space on the compact flash cards until I purchased my first Lexar 256 MB card. This card allows me to take hundreds of good quality photos on one card when I'm on a trip or at an event. Yes the speed slows a bit when the card is full, but if you're skiing or out on a hike and don't want to be changing cards this is a great accessory. 256 MB can be an extravagance if you are someplace where downloading or changing cards is not a problem but if you want to just keep on clicking try this card. It is also essential if you want to take videos with your digital camera. Videos use up a ton of memory so the larger capacity is a must. Overall I've been really satisfied with my Lexar card. I've used it agasin and again with no diminished capacity, and I've stored photos on it for a long time with no problems. Downloading has been a pleasure and photo quality is excellent. When you consider how much service it gives you this card is a bargain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Speed improvement on my Nikon 775, October 22, 2003

I have a Nikon 775, and purchased a 64MB Sandisk CF to go with it a while ago. When the price dropped for 256MB CF, I decided to purchase this Lexar 12x CF, to have more room for pictures. It was a surprise to notice that lag time between shots and viewing time have improved. Now I switch between shooting mode and viewing mode more often because of speed improvement; it was a real pain before, it used to take around 10 seconds, now it's around 2-3 seconds.
I am not sure if this will happen with other cameras, but I'm happy with this card in my 775. I wish all memory cards come with the speed rating to make purchase decision easier.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad, June 19, 2003

I already had a 128 MB CF card form SanDisk, but wanted a 256 MB card, since I was running out of memory on trips and photo shoots. I bought this Lexar Media CF card because of the price. I thought the 12X would translate in to higher I/O performance compared to my SanDisk card. I didn't notice any speed increase though. The card gets the job done, but it's not any thing to get excited over.

Great card! Works fine with our Nikon Coolpix 4300. Larger card means more pictures at higher res, a 256 mb high-speed card is a must for anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Lexar 12X 256 MB CF Card is great!, August 16, 2004

I now have eight of these cards, and they have all worked flawlessly! My Nikon Coolpix 880 manual says they aren't tested to work, but Lexar guarantees 100% compatibility. That convinced me to try my first one, and the extra capacity over the 128 MB card is fantastic! I plan to use these more, when I upgrade to a higher megapixel Nikon Coolpix camera.

There's an advantage to having several smaller capacity cards than one big one. If a sole big MB card fails, you have no memory storage, then! This did happen to me on a photo shoot in the Eastern Sierra Nevada, a couple winters ago, with another brand card. Luckily, I've been picking up more memory cards as they went on sales, with rebates and discounts. But with a new 8 MP or more Coolpix, I eventually will get a few more 1 GB, or more, cards.

With my 8 Lexar cards, I can shoot over 2,000 images set mostly at a fine resolution, full-sized, for a 3 MP Coolpix. A seven day road trip filled them up, for me. This does improve the screen viewing image, too, over those at a normal setting.

I am awaiting three rebates currently, and Lexar's rebate notification system is very helpful in making sure they received your rebate forms, receipt copy, and proof-of-purchase.

If you need more memory than comes with any digital camera, I'd strongly recommend this card. With 323 images (set at Full/Normal) to shoot with a 3.34 MP camera, that'll get you through most all a beautiful, shooting day!

Not much else to say, except that I've never had a problem with Lexar memory, and they are one of the higher rated memories (by several different computer reviewer sites), and one of the fastest.

I use this card in a Canon Powershot A70 and have had no problems. This 12x speed card seems to be faster than my other card, but for my travels I was more interested in reliability.
