The premium Lexar Professional 600x CompactFlash® (CF) memory card provides ultimate high-speed performance and reliability for professional photographers. Where other brands offer cards with "up to 600x write speeds", the Lexar Professional 600x delivers industry-leading 600x (90MB/s) guaranteed minimum sustained write speed. The card provides support for high-resolution UDMA-enabled DSLR cameras, lets you capture and store high-quality images and video, and dramatically increases card-to-computer transfer rates when paired with a UDMA-enabled reader. The Lexar Professional 600x CF card is available in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB capacities. (Some of the listed storage capacity is used for formatting and other purposes and is not available for data storage.)
The Lexar Professional 600x CF card leverages UDMA 6 technology to offer ultimate, high-speed performance with a guaranteed minimum sustained write speed capability of a blazing 600x (90MB/s). This means you can keep shooting whether you're capturing high-quality images or video. The card also dramatically improves card-to-computer transfer rates when paired with the Lexar Professional ExpressCard™ CompactFlash Reader or other UDMA-enabled reader, drastically reducing post-production time.
The Lexar Professional 600x CF card includes the latest version of award-winning Lexar Image Rescue™ software. Image Rescue 4 provides reliable recovery of most photo and video files, even if they've been erased or the card has been corrupted. (Image or other data recovery is not 100% guaranteed.) What's more, the card comes pre-loaded with trial versions and exclusive, money-saving offers on leading Adobe® software. You'll enjoy free, 30-day trials of the latest versions of Adobe Photoshop® Lightroom®, Adobe Photoshop Elements, and Adobe Premiere® Elements software--with discounts of up to $100 on purchases of the full software versions. (NOTE: Product appearance, software offerings, and packaging may vary depending on ship date and available inventory.)
The Lexar team works with major camera manufacturers to ensure all Lexar memory cards are compatible with their digital cameras - from the simplest to the most complex. The cards are also tested in the Lexar Reliability Lab, a facility with more than 800 digital cameras and memory card devices, to further ensure compatibility and performance. And all Lexar Professional cards come with a limited lifetime warranty and a free, dedicated customer support line. Designed with professional photographers in mind, the advanced technology and blazing speed of the Lexar Professional 600x CF card provides ultimate memory card performance.
Speed-rated cards are a smart investment for all photographers and offer a wide range of capabilities. A high-speed memory card can enhance in-camera performance, especially for photographers who take lots of pictures, use the video option on their camera, or have the need to shoot photos in quick succession. The true benefit, however, is in post-production work, where transferring your work from your camera to your computer can be greatly accelerated and wait times significantly reduced.
A speed rating means that each card is tested and guaranteed to be at least as fast as its stated rating. It also means that the camera can write to the card faster, and that fast readers can perform downloads from the camera faster. Lexar Professional cards are speed rated and come in standardized increments such as 40x, 80x, and 133x. The X represents the transfer rate, and 1x means the card can perform data transfer at 150 KiloBytes (KB) per second. This is important to know because you can match the capabilities of your camera and your needs as a photographer to the speed of card that's appropriate for your level of use.
These are two key benefits of a high-speed memory card. Not only are you able to increase the number of photos you take, but you can improve on the speed in which you take them. But it's about more than just the number of photos a card can hold--a high-speed card is important if you are photographing a fast-paced sporting event or an important occasion.
More importantly, high-speed memory cards make a huge difference in post-production work. Digital cameras today offer amazing resolution, but with high-definition resolution comes a huge increase in file size, which means transferring your photos to your computer to edit or upload can take a really long time. But with transfer rates and upload times significantly reduced thanks to a high-speed card, photographers enjoy a huge time savings. This gives professional photographers more time for photo editing, working on other projects, and promoting their business.
Probably the most critical component for any memory card, reliability is the single most important thing to all photographers. Whether you're shooting a family wedding or taking your own vacation photos, you need to have the peace of mind of knowing your images are all being stored safely and there will be no file corruption. A high-quality, high-speed memory card helps ensure you don't lose any images.
All Lexar Professional and Platinum level memory cards come with a lifetime warranty and full technical support. The Professional line of cards also includes the added benefit of a dedicated technical support line for immediate, specialized assistance.

A CF card is best rated after a period of time...,

But I'll review this one now.
I bought this card originally to be used in a Canon 5D (classic) to attempt to speed up the write time when I shoot in RAW. While the write times were marginally better than my 233X Kingston CF cards it wasn't enough to make a difference. But I believe this to be the cameras doing not the Lexar card. I recently purchased a Canon 7D (from Amazon) and tried both cards in it. The Lexar write times are noticeably faster with the 600x Lexar as compared to the 233x Kingston. Very Cool! So if you have a newer DSLR give the Lexar a try, it will speed up your shooting and downloading.

Card failed, unrecoverable photos, within six weeks of purchase,

The Good: This 8gb, 600x card writes fast. When shooting continuous, high-speed sequences in RAW on a 7d the card clears the buffer very fast.
The Bad: The life of this card was disappointingly short. It lasted about six weeks before it was unreadable by both camera and computer. Image Rescue 4 software, which is included with the card, recovered exactly ZERO of the 100's of photos on the card. Not only are the images irretrievable, but the card is unusable too: neither my camera nor computer are able to reformat the card. That makes me wonder if the problem is a hardware failure and not just a corrupt FAT file.

I purchased two of these cards to replace a pair of 133x Lexar CF cards for my Nikon D3. The camera is noticeably faster when going from shooting to playback (it may only be a second or two, but when you need to check shots, it seems like forever). I am LOVING the speed of this card in my USB3.0 reader. I'm not a pro, but it isn't unusual to come back from an event and have 200-300 photos. I used to start the import, then go get a cup of coffee, now it takes less than a minute to download a couple hundred RAW images.
