Could not reformat, could not recover partition, etc.

The class 6 speed on this card is plenty fast enough to not bottleneck the downloads.

When I received this card in a little ziplock package, I was very wary. I inserted it in my computer to verify it wasn't one of the many counterfeit cards being sold on the Internet. It showed up as a 16GB card (14.5GB usable) in the computer, with a couple of dot-files already on it, including an empty .Trash folder. Running the H2Testw SD-test utility failed at 4GB.

At this point, I was worried. I reformatted the card using Windows and ran the test again. Failed at 4GB again. Isn't that evidence of a counterfeit card? You would think so.

After posting a negative review and beginning the Amazon RMA process, KomputerBay contacted me, assuring me it was a real 16GB card. They recommended I reformat it using the Lexar utility.
Not being able to find said Lexar reformatter on the Internet, I downloaded the standard one from sdcard.org (the SD Standards body). I reformatted the card using that utility and tried H2testw again.

It worked! The card now holds the full 16GB of advertised capacity, and it's definitely a Class 6 card.

I'm finally satisfied that the card is good, but I still wonder why it was formatted incorrectly and why it had a .Trash (Mac?) directory on it.

Next step, putting the card in my phone...

I used this card to make a dual-boot option for my Barnes and Noble Nook Color - I can boot to the factory Nook config or to the SD card which boots a version of Android. I didn't think there was anything special about this card until I tried to do the same thing with my sister's Nook Color.

The 16GB card she bought (unfortunately I don't have any info about it) formatted properly and I was able to install everything needed to boot and install Android. But when I did, the setup was riddled with errors which I later discovered were software timeouts - the card was too slow, or had errors, or something, but it wasn't suitable.

After much frustration I decided to try to an 8GB class 6 card from another vendor that I had lying around. This solved the software errors (timeouts) but still yielded an unstable environment, too unstable to use.

I put my own Lexar 16GB class 6 in my sister's Nook Color and it booted to Android just fine. Apps worked perfectly So I had to try another Lexar 16GB class 6 for her toy.

I started from scratch with the new SD card today and the hacked version of Android installed FLAWLESSLY. No errors, none.

Most won't be interested in this product for the reasons I like it so much, but I gotta say that two out of two of these worked perfectly where two out of two others failed. I had no idea there was such a difference between this card and that card, but I'm a believer now. This is very good stuff.

I bought this Lexar 16gb Micro SD card from Everything but Stromboli. It read 16GB with over 14.91GB available (which is pretty standard after formatting) First thing I tested was transfer speed. Using 100MB video file read and write speed were as advertized write 10MB/s and read being 18MB/s. But that was a single file. I transferred 12GB of data from large to tiny files which really works the card. I got 8.7Mb/s for write speed and 13.5 for read speed. This is very good considering the price paid for the card. Class 6 cards are suppose to be minimum 6Mb read and write and this card exceeded that by a fair margin almost a class 10 card according to this website (and is faster than class 10 when transferring a single large to medium file). [...]
This test was done from a fast desktop computer using the supplied adapter. Most of what is done with a card is reading or writing a picture or mp3 file from it. In that case you will get the fastest speed from my test. Almost never would you transfer 12gb at one time so again, this card works as advertized for the intended purpose and is faster than the 6MB/s standard.

I bought this card for my Motorola Droid X cellular phone. The card works great in the phone, no issues. I would recommend this card and Everything but Stromboli who was the seller.

The memory it's fantastic, I tested on my computer and it's very fast.

The only problem is that started to have issues with my Motorola Cliq, it wasn't responding good and when I lock the screen the phone never responds again, I had to remove the battery to start it again, so I finally removed the memory and put back the old 8GB that works with no issues.

Anyway I'm going to keep the memory because I'm planning to change my phone in about one or two months and I hope with that phone will work great.

I've used it in my HTC EVO, which had came with an 8G class 2 I think? Anyway, this seems much snappier, is not nearly as crowded on space, and I've had no issues with it. The price seemed good too!

I purchased this MicroSD card after ordering a SanDisk 16GB and returning because my device wouldn't read the card. This is the second Lexar High-Speed 16GB MicroSD I've purchased on Amazon for my Samsung phone and Nook Color, they work great! I would highly recommend the disc and the seller Komputerbay, prompt shipping excellent service.
