Very fast write speed!

It stores the pictures I take at a very fast pace, never holding me up when I take action shots at the swim meets.

Note once again that I COULD NOT test the specific card I received, as Adorama rudely (cleverly?)

This card was on sale for 78% off when I bought it (like many of the other memory cards here on Amazon). I received the wrong capacity -- a completely different card with only 128GB (LSD128CTBNA600), and so did some other reviewers here. I immediately contacted the seller (Adorama Camera), who failed to respond for days -- that is, until I opened a case with Amazon and forced their hand.

When they finally responded, they were remarkably rude given the nature of their own fraudulent "mistake." I requested an exchange with the correct item but they not only refused outright, they ignored the request entirely until the sale expired and then regurgitated their "standard REFUND return policy." This treatment is unfair in itself. This is not a standard return for a standard grievance for a standard mistake and shouldn't be treated as such. Refusing to honor the price agreed upon when we entered into the purchase agreement through Amazon is one [bad] thing, but to refuse to take any sort of responsibility or accountability is quite another. Weeks later, with numerous frustrating back-and-forths between the company and (an) absurdly negligent and uncomprehending case assistant(s), I was promised a "full refund." Well, I finally got my refund a month later -- of ONLY the item price, WITHOUT the double-digit shipping I paid for it. Incredible.

A partial refund well after the sale period is over is too little, too late, as Adorama is not taking responsibility for their fraudulent actions.

Some of the reviews listed on the page for this product were for products of a different capacity. The reviewers complain that they got a different capacity card from what they ordered. I, on the other hand, got exactly what I ordered, the 128GB card, and I am very happy with it. There isn't a lot to say. I haven't done any tests of the speed but it certainly works in my Canon camera and my computer had no difficulty reading the files. I'll see if I can do some measurements and report back. On a busy day I could fill up my 32GB card (just short of 1,500 images). To say nothing of video. Anyway, this is just what the doctor ordered.

Update: One issue with this card is that it is formatted using Microsoft's proprietary exFAT file system. If your work flow includes either Windows or MacOS then you are probably fine but if you rely on Linux exclusively, you may have problems getting to your files. There are, apparently, solutions, but I haven't worked too hard to solve this problem as my main computer dual-boots between Linux and Windows 7. If I didn't have Windows available, I'd be rather unhappy. This certainly isn't the fault of Amazon or even, necessarily of Lexar. It will most likely be true of any and all SDXC cards for a while to come. A freer format would be preferred all around, however.

Another Update (02/2014): I have it working under CentOS 6 now and assume it can work in other modern Linux distributions. You'll want the fuse-exfat (and optionally exfat-utils) packages (possibly named differently on other distributions), both available for RHEL/CentOS from rpmfusion. The card doesn't automount, but that's not the end of the world. That will probably come eventually. I continue to be very happy with this purchase.

I bought this to run in my Nikon D800e because when shooting in RAW the files are monster and took forever to transfer and I wanted greater capacity. It has served well as far as the capacity has been concerned, but I'm still nto super impressed with the transfer rates I get when uploading these files to my computer, and I have a custom built work horse of a PC. Now keep in mind that the files I'm shooting are huge files and often times I'm transfering 50GB of data at a time.

I haven't had any problem with speed with this card, even with long video shots or burst-mode shots. I would recommend it.

I was looking for a 256 Gb SD Card. I looked online and I found a PNY 256Gb for $100! Paying $485 for this is just stupid...

In short: decent product at an unreasonable price.

I ordered this from Adorama through Amazon and never received the 256gb 600x version I ordered. Instead I received the 128gb 600x version. The 128gb version performed about the same as my http://www.amazon.com/Sandisk-128GB-Extreme-Card-Memory/dp/B006ZH1WVS , which I've gotten for as cheap at $130 new.

After failing to deliver the item I ordered and refunding my money, Amazon bumped the price up $40 to about $270. But it wasn't in stock to order. That would've been an ok deal.

Now it's in stock for $700. Five times the price for double the capacity and same speed? I'll be sticking with the Sandisk at half the size and a reasonable price.

I'd order this for under $300. A small premium for the convenience of such a big card for video or a card hungry D800 is worth it. But not for $700. In the mean time, get two cards. There's no speed advantage to be had here, just size. If this was a 90mb/s card, it'd be a different story. But 256gb and only 40mb/s? No good. Not at this price anyway.

Shame on Amazon and Adorama for not delivering the product I actually ordered at the price agreed to. [EDIT 2014: Other reviewers appear to have gotten them to deliver the correct item for the advertised price, with persistence and tenacity. Kudos to them. If these cards were faster, I might try likewise. YMMV]

[edit: price and performance of these parts changes on daily basis. I'm writing this in early 2013. In a year from now, this all ought to be irrelevant]

[edit #2: for those curious, I tested the speed of the 128gb 600x I received in a Sandisk USB3 reader, which with my fastest card writes around 75mb/s. Also that is reading from my top tier SSD.
