Are there faster SDHC cards? Yes. Even from Lexar's own line. Is there a better value? I'd be hard-pressed to find one!

For reference, the Lexar Pro 400X 32GB cards that just arrived from Amazon today bench in ATTO benchmark at 1GB setting with speeds of: 43MB/s Write and 86MB/s Read using a Kingston FCR-HS3 USB-3 card reader, Win7 64-bit on a DELL XPS8500 i7 3.4GHz using SSD drives. To be fair, these are only 400X for use in my D7100 (Primary & Backup), the 600X will be noticeably faster, but I don't blow through shots quickly enough for the small speed difference between the 400x & 600X to be an issue, and I can just about buy a 2-pack of 32GB 400X Lexar cards {$63.22 for both} for the cost of (1) 32GB 600X Lexar card {$61.59 each} as of 8/8/2013.

ATTO Benchmark Results For Comparison With Other Card Options
43MB/s WRITE | 86MB/s READ - Lexar Professional 400X 32GB SDHC Cards (Purchased August 5, 2013 through Amazon.com)
43MB/s WRITE | 47MB/s READ - SanDisk Extreme 45MB/s 16GB SDHC Cards (Purchased September 18, 2012 through Amazon.com)
81MB/s WRITE | 90MB/s READ - SanDisk Extreme PRO 95MB/s 32GB SDHC Cards (Purchased August 5, 2013 through Amazon.com)

Do I use faster cards? Yes. I use the SanDisk Extreme PRO 95MB/s SDHC cards in the second memory card slot of my D800 as they are the closest match to my Lexar 1000X CF Cards that go in the first memory card slot. (I use them as backup cards when shooting weddings and events.) But for just general fun being out and about shooting nature, or when travelling, these Lexar 400X cards offer more than enough performance without breaking the bank!

I own Nikon D7100 which needs faster cards in order to do multiple shots. This card works very well. Do not spend on faster cards if your camera does not support taking more than 8 shorts in continuous shooting mode.

I like Lexar brand name: I purchased a Lexar JumpDrive Triton 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive LJDNV32GCRBNA a year ago and it is the fastest jump drive I have ever had. It shows the best performance on USB 2.0 as well. So, I decided to purchase these Lexar SD cards that are supposed to give 60 MB/s speed in addition to the SanDisk Extreme 32 GB SDHC Class 10 UHS-1 Flash Memory Card 45MB/s SDSDX-032G-AFFP that I have. However, it turned out that Lexar 60 MB/s cards on 15-20% slower than SanDisk 45 MB/s cards. They still show a good performance, but I am disappointed because it is below of my expectation. I would not buy them again.

----------------------- 2/14/2013 - Downgrading after trip to Asia.

We spent almost a month in Asia where the weather was quite hot - over 90's. We took 1500 pictures using 2 cameras: Nikon and Canon. To be safe, I switched memory cards in each camera every week and copied taken pictures on iPad every day. And I was right! Getting back home I tried to read memory cards on PC. It turned out that about 50 files on one of two Lexar cards that I used in this trip were damaged!

I was not very regret about lost pictures because I had a backup copy on iPad. I did not try to recover damaged pictures. I reformatted the card and it seems working okay. But I will never ever use these cards again.

If this card would stop working I would give it 2 stars. But this card is unreliable! It seems like it is working but you are losing the information.

advertised at 45mb/s (400x), I bought MANY and they only run at 30. Contacted the company. First they tried to blame me, saying my hardware wasn't usb 3.0. After I told them I have cards that run at 90mb/sec they refused to replace them, claiming that this was acceptable operating speed - THEY CLAIM THE CARDS ARE ONLY RATED FOR 20. These scammers at Lexar actually claim that, although every other memory card manufacturer labels their cards with write speeds, theirs are labeled with read speeds. They do this knowing that when you're downloading to your computer every second doesn't count, taking video or pics off the card, that urgency isn't there on the read speed side. When you're in the field shooting pictures of video, waiting for the card to write is a PROBLEM causing you to miss shots. The way these are labeled amounts to a scam.

ALL of my cards have had to be replaced 3 times in the last year, and I had MANY. Every time is a major hassle. They have the absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced from any company. RMAs they generate only sometimes actually get emailed to me. Their supposed 24/7 live chat has even told me I had to call back during normal business hours because they can't generate an RMA for more than 1 card. Trying to deal with them over the phone instead of chat is even worst, they just keep transferring you around in circles until you give up. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR ANYTHING ELSE FROM THIS WORTHLESS COMPANY. YOU WILL GET STUCK WITH JUNK THEY WON'T SUPPORT
