4.0 out of 5 stars Not Well Referenced, October 3, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Lexi-Comp's Drug Information Handbook 2009 - 2010 (Paperback)
This is a good handbook to have with you for on-the-go look-up of drug information (i.e. on rounds). It is a little larger than pocket size, but is just small enough to fit in the pocket of a white coat. The drug monographs are pretty good, but it is not well-referenced. This is a good place to start, but one should definitely verify the info.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Go-To Reference, December 28, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I work in two different suburban hospitals and The DI Handbook remains my go-to reference for drug info. My younger colleagues all gravitate toward Micromedex, but I'd rather have this little book than access to any Internet site. Great for quickly finding incidence of side effects, pregnancy category, and available form and manufacturer. Drugs are listed by generic name, but are cross referenced by brand name, e.g. if you look up Zoloft, it says, "See sertraline pg. XX" so it's easy to find just about anything. I have used both the full version and pocket editions. The one I have now also has international trade names which is a big plus. If I had to practice pharmacy on a desert island and could only have one reference, this would be it.

5.0 out of 5 stars used on mission trip, January 20, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I used this book on an international mission trip. It came in very handy. It has all the info of the drug info handbook plus the extra international drugs listing.
