El Crapo Printo,
By Mark Anderson (West Hollywood, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lexmark Z65 Inkjet Printer (Office Product)
No, No, No. Do not buy this printer.A myriad of problems you'll encounter if you go ahead and ignore this and every other customer review that you'll find listed here. There was a day when this printer truly impressed me. That day was about two weeks after I had the printer set up and already conquered the first of at least five Lexmark wars. That day I printed out about three color photo copies of pictures that were sent to me through e-mail. The quality of each copy was stunning. I had never seen such detail come from a home based printer! It was pure joy, and... SCREETCH!! Dream over. Suddenly I was completely out of color ink, and it was a $45 trip to Office Depot to replace the cartridge. This new cartridge lasted me another very short life, and then came the paper jams. You'll discover that this printer is extremely fragile while trying to unjam the paper mess. As time goes by, you'll need to hold the paper against the right clip of the upright paper tray in order for the paper to feed in straight. And finally, after a month or two has trudged on by, all the while with the memory (now fading away) of the day when the Lexmark did what it should, my lovely printer died. My printer has become totally worthless because the electronic mechanisms that surround both the left and the right cartridges "shorted out," as the troubleshooting guide has told me so. Take warning and go find a Canon or something.

Super Fast and Exellent Quality,
By A Customer
This review is from: Lexmark Z65 Inkjet Printer (Office Product)
This printer is great for everything. It has exellent dpi resolution which makes it great to print photos. It is also good for text printing since it prints 21 pages per minute. It is the fastest and best printer in the market today. It was really easy to install it. I definitely recommend this product.

GARBAGE PRINTER NEGATIVE 5 STARS,
By rose "asia3" (NEAR HOUSTON TX United States) - See all my reviews

The first one I had took less than a week to stop printing the colored areas. The replacement lasted about 5 months then did the same thing, of course I had just bought new cartridges. Customer support was inept at best, probably hit a key and send standardized message. After a few back and forths they tell me that it must be a bad cartridge. Give me a break, the color stopped in the middle of a print job. They did tell me how to print a diagnostic page. According to that there was a heater problem. I will never purchase another lexmark

Junk Printer - lasted barely a year and nothing but problems,

I bought this printer last year with high hopes after owning a previous Lexmark printer (a cheap Z11) that lasted for nearly four years of heavy usage. This printer has been a disappointment from day one. 1. Once it actually begins printing a page, it prints at a decent speed. However, it takes a loooong time to start printing....you hit print, then wait, then the little "Printing Started" display comes up, then you wait, and wait, and wait, and THEN it finally starts to print. Very time consuming. 2. It frequently gobbles up too many sheets of paper at once and jams up. 3. Ink cartridges for this printer are very expensive and seem to run out fairly quickly compared to previous printers I've owned. 4. Several days after the 1-yr warranty expired, the printer jammed horribly and started shredding the edges of each page that fed through. After three or four sheets, it started printing blank pages. After going through every trick Lexmark's troubleshooting guide (printing test pages, cleaning print nozzles, wicking the nozzles, checking USB ports, etc) the most I can get it to do is print the test pages IN YELLOW....but only the test page....and after printing that several times, it goes back to printing blanks again. I've contacted Lexmark's customer support and received the standard form reply (which is the exact same info as what's in the troubleshooting menu, by the way....real help that is!). I'm off to plunk down the money to buy new printer now. I'll be extremely reluctant to ever buy another Lexmark after this experience - I certainly expect a printer to last longer than a year!

Pure Nightmare,

Lexmark is the nightmare of the home user!! Replaced the printer twice: Endless paper jams, printer communication issues, horizontal noise on color printouts and to top this off poor customer support from the Athens, Greece office.

Don't Bother!,
By Paramedic Mama (California) - See all my reviews

The main reasons I purchased this printer are: 1. Price and 2. The advertised quality of color printing. It was easy to set up and install, but after printing the first test page I was very disappointed. There was obvious horizontal banding, even after aligning and cleaning the print heads. I returned this printer and purchased an HP Photosmart 7550 from Amazon.com (no tax & free shipping = substantial savings for me). This printer would be fine for someone who only wants to print black and white documents, but if you plan on printing digital photos or color documents, look elsewhere!

Crapped out after about 12 months,
By A Customer
This review is from: Lexmark Z65 Inkjet Printer (Office Product)
Bought this thing at the end of the Summer. Hardly used it because I do alot of black and white on an old reliable HP laser printer. This Lexmark just bit the dust after about 10 real uses. Paper shoots out then it just keeps whirring until I unplug it, smells like melting plastic .. to top it off I bought the spare ink cartridges.

Look somewhere else....,

I would not recommend this printer. Oh sure - it worked pretty well for about 8 months. The "cannot find printer" errors were frequent and frustrating, but overall the print quality was okay.Today it appears the wheel that pulls the paper into the printer has crapped out. If you consider the time my boss will pay me to pack this thing up, the time to dig out the old receipts to satisfy the warranty, and the cost of shipping it in to be fixed.... it's cheaper to buy a new printer.

Be afraid...,
By A Customer
This review is from: Lexmark Z65 Inkjet Printer (Office Product)
I had this printer for just over 1 year (hmmm... the warranty ran out at 1 year, coincidence??) and it died. Won't print color at all, but still prints black. Tried multiple color cartridges etc to no avail. After several conversations with support via email and on the phone (including one exchange on the THIRD day when the girl asked "What printer do you have again?") they finally said, "The printer must be broken". Go figure. My Z65 is now outside in the snow and I purchased another HP. Be afraid. Bad quality, Bad service, Bad idea!

Just what I was looking for!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Lexmark Z65 Inkjet Printer (Office Product)
I bought this printer about 9 months ago. With every other printer I've had, something always went wrong. Not with this Lexmark! I have printed over 2 color cartridges worth of photos on this printer, and I must say, the quality is Excellent. I will never pay for Sears or Anyone else for that matter to do my kids pictures again! I bought this and a Kodak easy share 3.2 megapixel camera at the same time and I have been having a ball! I do my own gifts and cards and tshirts, magnets, etc...People are amazed at the quality! I have had just a little trouble with the paper feed, but maybe I'm doing something wrong. I would definitely reccommend this printer. I paid... and it was and is well worth it. |
