this printer is junk,

I bought the Lexmark X2250 printer for an extra $50 with a computer system purchase. I did not expect a great printer at that price, but this item is junk. It is not worth even $50. It is extremely noisy, slow, consumes ink like crazy, and makes horrible scans. If you do not use it regularly, the ink cartridges dry out in no time. And they are not cheap to replace.
This was my first Lexmark printer and it will be my last. No matter how tempting the offer, do not waste money on this product.

This is one of those devices that have scanner, printer and copier combined. Unfortunately, none of them is particularly bad.
First the printer: * anything beyond basic quality is too slow. Takes about 3 minutes to print a 4 x 6 photo at best quality * photo quality is very bad. If you want to do any digital photography. this product is not for you. * ink does not last long if you use it at best quality. I typically exahust my color cartridge every time I use it to print photos (in about 25 4x6 photos) * very noisy * bad paper tray. they always become slightly diagnol leading to bad printing. * no auto duplex printing scanner * i still have not been able to configure it to scan it in right orientation. Regardless of how I keep my paper or what settings I use. The document is always slightly diagnol. * scanning quality is nothing to speak of copier * color copying has same issues as that of color printing * has the same issues as copying The only reason I did not give it 1 star is because it came for $20 extra with my computer purchase and for that price is good for quick lowest quality use-and-throw black and white basic printing (mapquest, reciepes etc). Your mileage may vary but I will not recommend it.

It seems to be a good product, but...,
This review is from: Lexmark X2250 All-in-One (21T0000) (Office Product)
As a printer, this product is useful if you don't care about printing quality or if you have enough time to wait for a well printed page. The printing feature is fast if you decide to use draft quality, which by the way, is the worst quality you could imagine (in this mode some words look like in bold format, vertical lines don't look straight, etc.). If you want better results you have to go beyond draft and here is where the nightmare begins: the printer becomes really slow and quality doesn't improve a lot. All of this is just in black printing... the experience with color printing is worst.
As a scanner the experience is not so bad. However, I've had better results with other products (like HP or Epson). Paper tray doesn't give a good platform to have all the pages aligned, which eventually results in bad printing. The pros?... Well, the equipment (and its software) are very easy to operate (I have Windows XP) and you're not going to find a lot of complex buttons. When you don't need more than the copying feature, it's not necessary to have the computer on. Since I have Lexmark at my office (departmental laser printers) and they are terrific, I supposed that buying this "All-in-One" for home purposes it was going to be a great purchase, but instead it was a big mistake. In conclusion, Do I recommend this product?: NO... Look for a better one.
