Great looking, sharp text,

I just purchased a Lexmark Z32 which came with this cartridge as well as the 17G0060 color cartridge. This is my third inkjet printer and BY FAR the best. I've had an Epson and a Canon that were ok but this Lexmark is incredible. I realize this review is for the black cartridge only (sorry). I know everyone out there sees "laser quality" or "laser like" in reference to inkjets lately but this one truly is. The black text and lines from this cartridge are dark, crisp, and virtually without any bleed or feathering. An excellent product.

After printing very few documents, this cartrige ran out of ink. Before I even bought this printer the salesperson warned me that it would run out quickly. I didn't think it could be that bad, but it IS!!

Really does run out too fast,

The quality is fine, but if you're someone who prints out lots of monochrome documents, you'd be better off looking elsewhere. Lexmark does sell a 'high capacity' cartridge, but it obviously costs more too. Here's a tip I found out - whenever you're not printing, turn the power off! I don't mean pull the plug or flip the switch on your surge protector. If you don't manually turn off the printer with the power button, the cartridge won't go back to its holding position, and it'll just dry out during the night. BUT even so, I found this cartridge ran out after, oh, 200-300 monochrome pages. For the amount of stuff I print out, I'd like a cartridge that can handle at least 1,000!

I have the Lexmark Z22. I have had good luck out of these cartriges. I usually can find them quite cheap at the flea market (price ranges from $17-flea market to almost $40-stores) so if you hunt around you can find them for a great price. Beware there are times even from stores such as Best Buy that my catridges are dry. Make sure to look on the box for an expriation date and if there is not one ask about a return policy!

I just paid $25 for this including shipping while it is about $36 plus tax at Office Max and other stores.

Not Bad, Not Good either!,
By I know it still has plenty of ink because it prints wide black bands during the cleaning process; however, once you start printing a document, it fades out after the 1st couple of lines. My guess is that once opened, the ink dries quickly inside the cartridge! I also tried several re-manufactured/compatible cartridges, but the ink is usually gray instead of black, and it smudges quickly if you touch it with a wet hand. Not to mention that the nozzles are often clogged on those refurbished cartridges right out of the box and no matter how many "cleanings" you perform. Conclusion: if you have a Lexmark Printer, you're stuck & better-off with an OEM Lexmark Cartridge. Consider buying a different-brand printer in the future after proper research.

I've bought 3 cartridges already, one from Amazon and 2 from the store and 2 of them were dry. What a waste. These cartridges are so crappy.

This ink catridge is pretty good. I ordered it twice. The first one lasted for about 6 months. I'll stick with this one. Caution: Don't buy catridges for Lexmark P707 from other private sellers. I tried once and it sucks.
