A black hole for ink., March 31, 2009
This review is from: Lexmark X2500 Color Copier Scanner All-In-One Multifunction Printer (Electronics)
We bough our Lexmark x2500 printer primarily because it promised to be a good choice economically. We were mistaken.
The printer is an ink sink. When you put in a new ink cartridge, you are always required to print an "alignment" page. This page is supposed to make sure he printer is printing correctly, and it is not optional. HUGE waste of ink. We are required to have a color ink cartridge in the printer, even though we never use color. Also, our printer went through a glitch phase where ever time we turned our computer off, it thought the printer needed to be "realigned" and made us print a new sheet. Not happy about that.
In addition, the software that comes with he printer leaves much to be desired. The layout and primer boxes are cartoon-like. Ever time you do a print job, a box pops up, and if you're anywhere near low on your ink cartridge, it obnoxiously asks you if you want to order more ink "right away." It's an advertising gimmick, and I can't change my settings to take the thing away.
Scans well. Prints well. Hardware is great. Software is infinitely annoying.

Good priced all-in-one for those who don't print a lot, September 4, 2011
This review is from: Lexmark X2500 Color Copier Scanner All-In-One Multifunction Printer (Electronics)
I used this printer during 7th and 8th grade. It was adequate for my uses then, when I was printing little. By the end of 8th grade I was printing a lot and chewing up ink really fast. The cost of the printer is phenomenal for all it does, but the cartridges are way too expensive. $25 for color and black each! That's $50 to refill both tanks. And when you put a new cartridge in you have to print an alignment page which is a huge waste of ink. Though, I do love the scan function and the lexmark imaging studio software that comes with it, but it won't save things to PDF, it saves to pretty much every other format known to man. Also, what's annoying is that you have to save each page individually, you can't scan in multiple pages and save them as one file. You have to save each one individually then bundle them with a separate software (not included in printer purchase). I do love the easy one-touch black or color copy buttons and the scan to computer button. It has a nice small profile as well. However, the cost of ink totally outweighs all the pros. I've spent about $200 on ink, I could've bought a really nice cannon for that cost. Now I use the lexmark only occasionally, I use my mom's cannon pixma 882 for important stuff, it's an awsome printer. The reason I give the lexmark 3 stars instead of 2 is that it has lasted long and will probably last longer. Can't talk about the fax feature because it wouldn't recognize my wi-fi as a modem so I couldn't set a fax up. Bottom line is, if you want a cheap yet good quality thing just to have on hand and print occasionally, this is for you. If you want to print a lot don't buy this.

Don't waste your money on this piece of crap!, November 24, 2009
This review is from: Lexmark X2500 Color Copier Scanner All-In-One Multifunction Printer (Electronics)
Like the other reviewer said, this piece of junk wastes sooooooo much ink doing a completely unnecessary "alignment" page every time you do something except straight photocopying. The scanner function doesn't work properly and the print quality sucks! I am so disgusted with this machine I want to throw it in the trash. It should be called a multi-MALfunction printer!!!
Don't waste your money, get something that actually does a decent job!!!
