I was looking for a good, relatively inexpensive all-in-one printer. I looked on Amazon and Epinions for recommendations. The Lexmark P6250 seemed like a good option - people actually recommended it. The price and features looked good. Five months after I made the decision to buy the Lexmark, I am kicking myself as I am currently awaiting the delivery of my SECOND replacement unit. The only saving grace in this whole fiasco has been the warranty and the willingness that customer service has to dole out new printers. I am not a novice computer user but I find myself on the phone to their customer support on a regular basis. One day I called three times. The online user manual is awful, but the telephone customer support is very good. I searched for information on the specific error code that kept appearing on my printer and the online search found nothing related. No information at all on an error code appearing on the printer. Unbelievable. Error codes are not mentioned at all in the User's Guide. My first unit had some unsupported cartridge error that was never corrected. My second printer decided a few days ago to print heavy black horizontal lines on all my documents. When I called customer service about that, they immediately confirmed my mailing address and said, "We will send a replacement." A few months back when I was talking to one of the customer support guys on the phone I asked him if he had a Lexmark. He said, "Well....that is not a fair question...." I said, "You don't, do you?" He said, "No." He has three printers, none of which are made by the company he works for. Enough said.

There are two problems with this printer. The main one is when you create a document in word or works you get a summary sheet that can't be eliminated. Not so bad if it only appears once but if you print 10 copies you get ten extra summary sheets. Its such a waste of ink and paper. The other problem is you can't cancel the printing. You go thru the steps it says it will but doesn't. The print is clear but can't live with the extra summary sheets find it annoying.

I got this for $133 with no tax and no shipping fee. For the money, it's a good printer. The picture quality is good. Prints black and white and colors as well as photos. It can read a memory card or the photos already in the computer, it can display photos on the memory card in screen on printer so you can choose the ones you want to print, it can print without being hooked up to computer. It also scans and faxes if have dial up. I think you'd probably have to spend thousands to get better quality photos. It is slow, takes about 2 minutes to pring one 4X6.

I have been very pleased with the Lexmark P6250. It copies, prints, and scans easily without problems. Directions are simple as is installation. Would recommend highly.
