Enjoy photo quality straight out of the box. Featuring Lexmark's core inkjet print technology, the PrinTrio offers 2,400 x 1,200 dpi resolution in black and color on all paper types, allowing consumers to produce photo-quality pictures and crisp text. As with all of Lexmark's inkjet printers, achieving high-quality output is effortless as special paper and photo ink cartridges are not required.

Integrated photo editing software enables users to do simple image editing, such as cropping and resizing, as well as more sophisticated jobs including red-eye removal and color manipulation, without any additional software. The unit automatically adjusts images to print popular picture sizes: wallet, 3 by 5, 4 by 6, 5 by 7, and 8 by 10. A photo display stores and retrieves images, helping users organize their digital worlds.

The flexible flatbed scanner is designed to handle books, reports, and photographs. With the PrinTrio, simply scan traditional photographs to e-mail friends and family or incorporate into creative projects such as personalized greeting cards.

Capable of copying documents and images in both black and color via the host PC, the PrinTrio offers great convenience for those with light copying needs. The PrinTrio gives customers the ability to reduce or enlarge images between 25 and 400 percent, and can produce up to nine copies per minute in black and up to four cpm in color.

The PrinTrio also works as a PC-Fax machine. The included BVRP FaxTools software provides users with a message center mailbox that can create, modify, send, receive, and store e-mail and fax messages.

I bought this printer at Office Max for less than $50. They dropped down the price because lexmark is not going to make it anymore. It is a good printer that has many features (printing, scanning, and faxing). The quality of the output is acceptable.

Cons:
The ink goes out quickly and it is very expensive. I don't even know how many pages you print before it you buy another ink (black). All I can remember it does not last. If you buy that ink 3 times during the year you will probably spend that money on a new printer.
Another thing I found out is you can not network this printer. I have router with an USB print-server built-in. I tried to network the printer it was not working. I called the helpline and they told me this printer does not have that capability. So I have to hook it to one computer and share it with other computers.

Overal, I would not recommend this but it is good printer though.

PAPER WEIGHT April 14, 2004
This printer is little more than a paper weight. The money you save by having a printer/scanner combo, you spend in paper and ink cartridges. I can honestly say this because there isn't a time when it will not get jammed and continue using ink, even when the paper isn't feeding properly. So the next sheet or two of paper you run through your printer will come out with excess ink all over it. It is also very frustating, that it has trouble feeding paper, it either refuses to take any paper, or instead of just 1 sheet it will feed as many as 5 at once and cause the printer to jam.

GREAT QUALITY FOR CHEAP!!! August 21, 2007
I've had this printer for 3 years. I've NEVER had a problem with it. Sure, it's not as fancy as current printers on the market, but all that stuff is just extra for you to waste money on. Good quality in photos. Great with documents.

You can't get a better 3-in-1 printer/scanner/copier for this price. Of course, you can most definitely get a better 3-in-1 if you're willing to pay just a bit more. Read more

Not a single problem
I've used the machine for its intended purpose: printing and copying, with occasional scanning and faxing. I have had no problems with the function of the printer or its printing.
