5.0 out of 5 stars Think it is great
I just got the X6150 and I think it is going to do a great
job. The set up was a breeze and everything worked great!
I bought the HP 2210 and had to take it right back to the
store. It had a carraige jam and also one of the print
cartridge malfunctioned before I got to print one word.
The photo printing looks great and was fast. I just got it,...

1.0 out of 5 stars extreme poor service
The printer is okay for its price. But the service is an on-going nightmare.

We purchased this printer about 10 months ago. In early July we started to have problem.
On 7/26, I called technical support for help. After a brief diagnostic process they decided to send me 2 cartridges to try and they were supposed to reach me in 5-6 days.
On 8/6,...

We purchased this printer about 10 months ago. In early July we started to have problem.
On 7/26, I called technical support for help. After a brief diagnostic process they decided to send me 2 cartridges to try and they were supposed to reach me in 5-6 days.
On 8/6, not seeing anything in the mail, I called again without seeing the cartridges. I was told that the order had been closed. They promised to send 2 cartridges again.
On 8/17, not seeing anything, I called again and again was told that 2 cartridges will be sent by airborne and should reach me in 2-3 days.
On 8/20, again not seeing anything, I spoke with a supervisor and was promised that another 2 cartridges will be sent.
On 8/23, again not seeing anythng, I got technical support manager on the phone and was told that the cartridges were on back order and there was no ETA.

By all mean, pick this and any lexmark products if you have the patience to put up with this on-going nightmare.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst purchase ever!, December 20, 2003
This review is from: Lexmark X6150 All-In-One (Office Product)
I purchased this printer in June and within two weeks of receiving it, it stopped working. It kept saying there was a paper jam when there wasn't. I called tech support and had to go through hoops with them to PROVE that it was defective. They finally sent me a replacement (which was dented and scratched up, obviously not a new printer) and after a rew days, it started doing the same thing. I contacted them again and asked for a refund. They stated that they dont' do refunds. At the moment, it's been six months since I purchased it and it's only worked for about three weeks of that time. This is a terrible quality printer. What are the chances of two random printers giving the exact same error message?

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad design/ poor quality, April 10, 2006

I bought this printer in december. All was fine until it had a paper jam. In the process of the paper jam it knocked off an encoder strip. Now I get a hardward error code 502. Cleared the jam but now I have to put the strip back on. Call Lexmark and they tell me to try to put it back on. Not easy, damn near impossible.Since my printer is under warranty. They said they were going to send me another one. A used one. All I want is mine fixed. Instead they're giving me a used one, refurbished. Mine is damn near new quality. And I'm getting a old. Bad business, I will never get another lexmark. They are too disposable for me. Bad design and quality.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed, September 20, 2004
This review is from: Lexmark X6150 All-In-One (Office Product)
I recently bought a LexMark X6150 and was very disappointed in the Software, especially the Fax Setup Utility. I would not recommend this printer until these problems are resolved.

When I went to the LexMark website, I could not find an e-mail address to send this feedback to, therefore I'm posting it in this review forum.

Fax Setup Utility Problems and Examples
1. There is no version number available. How does one know whether he should apply the patch available for it? There is no information describing what the patch fixes. Uncool.
2. It acts quirky - doesn't follow typical Windows behavior. It is often counter intuitive.
3. Limited FAX number length (why?) I want to prefix the FAX number with a calling card number.
4. I couldn't copy some fields (Ctrl-C).
5. Data is often lost when going from one tab to another.
6. The Dialog Windows are small and not resizable. Therefore one can't easily see the full contact name or full phone number. Unfriendly.
7. Amateurishly implemented. Short cut keys don't work - can't Ctrl-V to paste - you have to use the pop-down menu.

You get the idea.

2.0 out of 5 stars Fax issues and bad service, August 19, 2004
By
Chris V. (Baltimore, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lexmark X6150 All-In-One (Office Product)
First time I went to use the fax, it sent blank pages. After that, it took over the phone line, acting like it was always picked up (like taking aphone off the hook). We didn't notice this at first and thought that our phone line had gone down, having the phone company come out to check the lines. They said a phone in the house was off the hook. None were. Turns out, even with the power off, the X6150 was picking up the phone and holding the line open. After going round with the tech support in India (yeah, suuure your name is "Sam"), and none of the software fixes, or settings fixes working, they agreed to send a new printer.

It never arrived. DHL (their only carrier) couldn't seem to find our house, but never called us. When we called to find out where the new printer was, the same day a letter arrived from Lexmark telling us we had 5 days to send the OLD printer, or they'd bill us $174.00!!!!! It took a week to get THAT straightened out, and they sent yet another printer to us. (BTW, neither DHL OR Lexmark knows where it went. records show it at the DHL warehouse, but they can't find it...)

This one came with no cables or anything. Looked used. Plugged it into the phone line, and it immediately picked up the phone, holding it off the hook. No matter what jack it was plugged into. After a couple minutes plugged in, the phone lines would go dead, until the printer was unplugged. tech support tried to link us to a new firmware driver on their FTP site. A file which apparently doesn't exist.

Lexmark will not give refunds, and tried to send us an X4270 instead, which retails for nearly a hundred dollars LESS than the one we bought! (and doesn't have a flatbead scanner, or the higher resolution of the X6150).

Lexmark tech support is garbage, as are their policies.

1.0 out of 5 stars Absolute garbage., June 10, 2009
This review is from: Lexmark X6150 All-In-One (Office Product)
This is the absolute worst printer I have ever owned. If you are looking at this item with serious intent to purchase please, turn back now. If you have ever seen the movie Office Space then I need not say anymore. Endless paper jams, awful software and drivers. Had it for only a month or so before it started getting paper jams for what seemed to be no reason at all. After following the guides extremely unhelpful troubleshooter I decided to resort to Google and sure enough, forum after forum on people with the exact same problem. Please, save yourself the frustration and cash....

Remember, Office Space.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pure Frustration!, April 11, 2006
This review is from: Lexmark X6150 All-In-One (Office Product)
This printer has some serious problems! Paper jambs are common, prints are usually crooked and the color quality is marginal. It also goes through ink cartrages very quickly. The software is cumbersome and the computer often needs to be rebooted to clear the queue if a print session is canceled. The fax function is awkward and I get alot of compliants about illegible faxes. The machine is supposed to be able to differentiate between faxes and phone calls but almost always cuts in on calls unless it is turned off before the call is received. A one star rating is generous. The up side? It dosn't yell back at you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best All-In-One for the Money, July 31, 2005
By
This review is from: Lexmark X6150 All-In-One (Office Product)
After extensive research I purchased this all in one for home use. I have been using it for several months and can not think of one bad thing to say about it. The installation was quick and easy. I have read other reviews stating they had a hard time installing or it caused problems with their system...to that I say they must have had very limited computer experience and their system was too old to handle this all-in-one. The scanning is very clear, even with photos, and it also scans much faster then some scanners in the same price range. The only thing I would change would be the ability to scan using an auto document feed, but with that you have to worry about having your documents mangled in the auto feed. I would highly recommend this all-in-one!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Lexmark X6150 All-In-One (Office Product)
Bought the printer four months ago and one night it would no longer feed the paper thru. Conacted Lexmark Customer Service and was given a whole long list of checks to do. I was still getting the Paper Jam error. Lexmark sent a new printer and it also gave the same paper jam error from the start. I bought a new USP cable and checked all connections, reloaded the software twice. Still the paper will not feed and the paper jam error shows up every time. Going out tonight and buying a Canon Printer. Doubt Lexmark will give a refund, so one printer will end up in the trash and the other retuned to Lexmark in Ohio.
