The Lexmark Z43 color printer boasts high 2,400 x 1,200 dpi resolution for photo-quality prints as well as clear, black text. The Lexmark Z43 colorprinter provides crisp black text at up to 12 ppm and colorprints up to 6 ppm, on a wide variety of media, especially plain and photopaper, transparencies, labels, index cards, and envelopes, plus paperstocks up to 150 pounds.

Its printing performance is supported by Accu-Feed paper handlingtechnology with a 100-page sheet feeder and reduced paper jams, plusconvenient ink-level indicators so you won't be caught without ink in themiddle of a project. I have used expensive Xerox 1200X1200 and Highend HP Deskjets and Epsons. To be blunt, they don't compare to the Lexmark Z43. This printer does it all and quickly too. The first photo that I printed out at 2400X1200 was absolutly amazing. The install was easy and the text print is true laser quality.

Lexmark says that Z43 can print 12ppm black & 6ppm color. This is only for attraction. I found it prints 2ppm black, if it is full page. When I asked for technical support, they explained to me, that 12ppm is for the page, filled no more then 5%! (almost empty!) and quality 300x300 (normal is 600x600). But quality of printed page is good (for 600x600) and is even better for 2400x1200. In this case you have to wait one page several minutes!

I Bought My Lexmark Z-42(now called Z-43) about a year ago, probably because my first printer was a Lexmark and was used to a "trouble free" printing task. Well the Z-42 exceeded my expectations in every respect! It has been a real work horse, does not use excessive ink and has been totally reliable. I originally plannend on buying a Z-52(now called a Z-53), but kept this one instead. According to what I have read, the Z-53 is not much faster than this one! Also does a good job on Photos, even on plain old 20 lb. paper! I highly reccommend this printer to anyone!
