This is one of the best seasons of Lexx. We all know how outlandish and insane this show is by now. But, there are extremely different tones throughout the series most reviewers fail to realize or even appreciate. The original four movies were a very straightforward Sci-Fi affair. They were unique, but not the best in terms of production. The second season took a Star Trek theme of traveling the galaxies, only to discover that every other living being was recklessly stupid or pointlessly evil, which allowed for enormous amounts of dark humor. The third season on the other hand, was more of a twisted philosophical meditation with religious themes, abandoning the majority of the humor provided in the previous season. By the fourth season, with a thinning budget and news of cancellation, Lexx retreated to the safety of lower production costs by bringing the Lexx crew to Earth.
This is the season where things started to turn even more insane than ever before, and trust me; it's a good thing! The production crew took more risks, was more experimental, and LOADED the show with social commentary. This season had more humor than drama, and it threw a lot of fans off, especially the ones who started watching during the more 3rd season. There are some low points (Mort & Moss), but some of the most memorable episodes come from this season too. Don't miss the first episode "Little Blue Planet" for one of the funniest parables of the United States Presidential Elections ever filmed. In addition, watch Lexx and the crew make the biggest joke out of Texas in "Texx Lexx," the outrageous "Xevivor" parody of the show Survivor, the continuous joke on George Bush in "Bad Carrot" (Don't worry Republicans, the Germans and Canadians just make bodily function jokes at the former US President), a unique interpretation of Dracula in "Vlad," an ugly underbelly of family life and kids in the humorous turning point "Stan Down, "and a lot more! With episodes that promising, how could you go wrong?

Glad I bought this, 4 years ago, when it was cheap. I can't believe it's almost $200 for 12 episodes. The series is really good. One of my favorites.

Season four of The Lexx is a great disappointment. The planets Fire and Water, which were very interesting in season 3 have been destroyed, and now the Lexx and crew experience "the little blue planet" a "type 13 planet in its end stages" meaning Earth.

There are a few laughs, but the shows in season 4, even with the talents of Bunny and Prince are not very well written and in many cases just plain dumb.

The episode called "the game" is a rare exception in season 4, as it is a very good episode.

I enjoyed season 3 much better.

Lexx Third Season didn't prepare me for Season Four.

I will put this in the most intellectual way as possible...It be good!!! Must buy!!

Disc 2 does not work in my dvd player, yet it works in my sisters Dvd player. The discs are not compatable wit all dvd players.
