Squish comes to the rescue!,
By Richard K. Rohrer (Whitmore Lake, Michigan United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lexx Series One - 4.0 : Giga Shadow (DVD)
Anyone who likes Lexx should like this movie. The identity of his Divine Shadow is revealed. Stanley gets revenge. A baby cluster lizard takes a major role. Kai is sustained. And Zev gets to moon over Kai, while 790 moons over Zev. The series one movies are better that the episodes, I think, because they fully explain all the characters. The other series are incomplete without series one.

A Small Improvement,

This review is from: Lexx Series One - 4.0 : Giga Shadow (DVD)
This episode actually made a bit more sense than the previous ones. That's frightening.
The lack of proto blood to keep Kai alive sends the Lexx back to the realm of the Shadow. The hope is to steal some of the proto blood and fulfill the prophecy of the destruction of the Devine Shadow, as time permits. We learn a lot more about the universe in which this series takes place and the story of the Divine Shadows is a lot darker than first thought. For millennia, they have been building up to the restoration of the Giga-Shadow without really knowing why. It turns out that the Giga Shadow is their own (and humanity's) own worst nightmare. Stanley Tweedle actually does well in this one but it is still the story of Kai and Zev. It's a non-sensical story but this episode makes about as much sense as the first one. It is better than the second two but none of them can be taken too seriously. Watch it for the occasional laugh, both at the story line and the cheesy sets and effects. |
