About the Author

Migene Gonzalez-Wippler was born in Puerto Rico and has degrees in psychology and anthropology from the University of Puerto Rico and from Colombia University.  She has worked as a science editor for the  Interscience Division of John Wiley, the American Institute of Physics, and the American Museum of Natural History, and as an English editor for the United Nations in Vienna, where she lived for many years.  She is a cultural anthropologist and lectures frequently at universities and other educational institutions.

The book gives an insight to some of the patakis on Orishas. It is well written and organized. It explains the creation of earth by Obatala and Yemaya to the chaining of Olokun. The paths of ellegua and the final battle.

A must have for those who wish to know more patakis on orishas or just have an overall knowledge on them. omi-illari.

Tremendo libro con muchos de los patakies tradicionales. Lo bueno es que pone diferentes patakies de los mismos orishas .
Como la mayoria de libros de Migene este es de los mejores. Recomendado para los santeros practicantes

Este es un libro fascinante. Me encanto el estilo en que la autora introduce a cada uno de los Orishas y los interrelaciona a cada uno de una manera tan perfecta, que despues de leer el libro es muy facil recordar a cada uno de los orishas y su papel en la naturaleza y la santeria. Excelente!!! Para aquellos que quieran un poco de historia de la Santeria y sus comienzos, este es el libro perfecto.
