So close and yet so far
on July 16, 2012
The battery fit great, and for the first day it worked great. However, it started jumping from 3 hours remaining to 45 minutes remaining to 2 hours to 10 minutes while my computer was barely doing any processing - I was typing a letter and had my browser open with a couple webpages open.
I contacted the reseller via email, and they we VERY HELPFUL. They sent me a replacement battery, and it arrived within 3 days!
The battery arrived, well packaged. Everything looked great! The first day, I charged the battery for 10 hours while my computer was off (as directed). When I turned on my computer, I unplugged the charger/adapter, and the battery was giving me almost 5 hours of power!!!! I used the computer intermittently throughout the day, and the battery did actually give me almost 5 hours of use. I plugged it back in when I had about 30 minutes left. I let it charge completely before using the computer again. When the meter said "Completely Charged" I unplugged the computer again, and the meter still showed that the power adapter was plugged in. I thought that maybe it would change after a few minutes, but it didn't. Still showed as plugged in with 100% full battery. After about 10 minutes, I went ahead and restarted my computer. The meter showed only 30 minutes left of battery life, and a new message appeared - "Service Battery." This is a message in the OS that lets you know the battery is not functioning properly. According to Apple, you can still use the battery but should have it checked before it goes bad.
Again, the reseller is EXCELLENT. The battery is bad.
