Cheesy Insider Fun!,
By Dawn Waxon "Owner, The Main Street Emporium" (Marceline, MO - Walt Disney's Boy Hood Hometown!) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Liar's Guide to Disneyland (Paperback)
The "Liar's Guide to Disneyland" will be found humorous by Disneyland fans, mostly the ones who attend the park often (if you are an Annual Passholder, be prepared to be referred to as "One of Them"). Disney lore and classic amusing anecdotes are turned on their heads by the mostly clever, dry humour of author/humorist "Horatio Q. Liar". At times the jokes become predictable or cheesy, but there are also many laugh-out-loud moments. Amateur park visitors and single time guests/tourists may not catch all the humour as at times the book reads as a serious tour guide; however, if you are a fanatic like me, you will definitely want to pick up this book for your collection and entertainment. Most enjoyable!

Something for Everyone,

To my way of thinking there are two types of people in this world. The Disneyland Fanatics...and everyone else. This book is for both factions. The Liar's Guide to Disneyland is a stingingly witty take on those who have a serious passion for the Anaheim holy land. While it points out the absurbity of the reverence by which some (including myself) have for "the only park Walt every set foot in", it is done in good taste and good humor. For those who are forced to visit the park with a fanatic who knows the significance of each of the names on the second story Main Street windows this book will provide you a lot of laughs and some ammunition for the next visit. For the fanatics, you will see yourself reflected in this literary funhouse mirror and will laugh as well.

Hilarious fun for Disneyland Fanatics,

This book is great for die hard fans of Disney, who don't mind being poked fun at. The best part is that some of the facts are, well, facts, while most is just good old-fashioned entertainment.
Not for the Disney newbie, who would be totally confused by trying to distinguish between fact and fiction. But a great read for those who have already read all the actual guidebooks and just want a good laugh. I was amazed that this is self-published, very good quality and so far no typos!

Imagine having too much time to write witty jokes about Disneyland. Got it, then you don't need to buy this book. While some jokes saved it from being one star, there is nothing about the presentation that makes it worth any money. Well, maybe a dollar is the author sends you the Word file, so you can print it out yourself.
