This is a great set of Irish mugs. The size is perfect at 8.5 oz. A much larger coffee mug allows my coffee to cool way too fast. These mugs are also very handsome looking. The handle is of average size and maybe only those with very large hands and fingers might find it uncomfortable. They are made in the USA which was a strong selling point for me. I thought their description of the storage box was a little bit of oversell but after receiving them, I was shocked at how much I like the box. Very handy with a lift off lid and cutouts on the side for carrying. I bought my set from Amazon and they did a fantastic job with the packing. Very well cared for and not 1 broken item. It comes with a small tip sheet that contains some coffee drink recipes and 1 odd tip - 'when pouring hot drinks into a glass mug, place a metal teaspoon in the mug before adding the hot liquid'. Not sure about why that is and I am still trying to find out. I did a fair amount of research looking for a good set of mugs that would work for any occasion and I am glad I selected these.

I ordered 3 sets of these to bring a different twist on culture to a small Native village in Alaska. We use them for Internet Cafe' and the students love to drink from them. They are beautiful and sturdy. Not one of them were broken in the long shipping process that it takes to get them to us.

This is the best price for this product. I checked all major suppliers and with shipping 2 dozen were at least $110.00. 3 Dozen from Amazon with shipping cost $87.00.

Update - Needed more, they are on sale with shipping for about the same price from Libbey's web site. $12+ plus shipping. Sale ends 3-17-2010
