I purchased these glasses because I was continally breaking or chipping my old set; the odd thing was that most of the breakage occurred not due to dropping/mishandling them, but from them falling over in the sink or being placed too close to another glass or mug in the dishrack! CLEARLY, I needed a sturdier set of glassware. I really liked the elegant look of this set and considered what other guests had said about their weight to be a plus. However, I was still pleasantly surprised when they arrived. The set is BEAUTIFUL! They are a bit on the heavy side, but not overly or uncomfortably so. Not only are they sturdy, they serve double duty as everyday glassware while smoothly transitioning to a small dinner party or quiet evening for two... I am absolutely THRILLED with them and I bet you will be too!

OK, the kids are growing up and these add a touch of class to the dining table. It is with great pleasure I retire the Ikea glasses. They are a nice heavy glass with a unique cut to them. I thought about the more traditional cut but am glad we got this one.

I just bought these and they are great. Very heavy thick glass that is lovely. A must at this price.

These very heavy weight glasses are almost too heavy...they weigh about .75 pounds each for the coolers. I would have enjoyed something a little less drastic than these, although they clearly will be durable and they look good.

Absolutely great set - have had this set for over a year and only broke one glass when it was dropped in the sink. The glasses have not even chipped given the amount of abuse they endure being used and dishwashed. Will definitely buy this set again.

I spent DAYs on-line and in person searching for stylish, non-fragile, heavy bottom weighted glasses in two sizes. And I finally found them here. They are absolutely fantastic because the bottoms are so heavy they are nearly spill-proof, the edges are substantial enough not to chip with just a whisper, and the size is perfect for them all to fit into my cabinet. My husband and children are spillers from a long line of spillers. It happenes because their thoughts are always circling back to something more important than where they just sat their drink. Heavy bottom glassware is an imperative at our house. But usually heavy bottomed glassware is large and cumbersome to use. Always taking up way too much room in the cabinet as well as dishwasher. These are wonderfully perfect. I'm trying to decide whether to get a spare set!

This glassware set is first rate. In the past, I've always been haunted by glassware that is TOO THIN (and thus breaks easily) .... but these are THICK, STURDY, and HEAVY. No chips; no cracks. And they look beautiful and expensive. They're just the right size, and can be used for casual or formal dining.

The glasses were heavy, and look fabulous on the dining table. Better than my expectations.

Again, relying on the many positive reviews for this item, I got the set.
It was no disappoinment at all because even my husband likes it, he doesn't use our old set anymore. It's quite heavy though but I kinda like the weight & the way it feels when you hold it, something substantial that you know won't easily break.

I am very pleased with these glasses. They are everyday glasses, but are classy enough for entertaining also. They are heavy glasses, but are tough also, won't be chipping or breaking anytime soon. I would advise anyone to purchase them. You'll be happy with them.
