You just can't beat this for the price. The set arrived with no broken pieces which is always good. The pitcher is of a good thickness, and a really nice attractive design. It is a tall pitcher that rounds out a bit at the base. Due to it's height it may not fit well on many of your fridge shelves. The height is 11-1/4" from base to lip. It is not super thick but not extremely fragile either. As some other reviewers I think have said there is a fairly obvious seem down the front of the pitcher where the glass was joined and I would guess this is an area you don't want to impact too often.
I mixed up some sangria in this and it looks as good as it tastes in this attractive pitcher. Easily enough room for a full bottle of wine and any other juices/liquors/fruits you add to your sangria mix. The 76 ounce capacity is a definite plus if you ad a lot of extra fruits juices and liqours in your sangria.
The glasses are a nice bonus. They are basically 10 ounces to the top of the glass, so figure you can fill them to about 8 ounces comfortably plus a couple pieces of fruit. If you add liquor to your Sangria this makes a nice sized refreshing and potent beverage.
Here is a great sangria recipe I found on line and modified slightly. It's a great base to work from. Enjoy.
* 1/2 cup brandy
* 1/3 cup frozen lemonade concentrate or ¼ cup lemon juice
* 1/3 cup orange juice
* 1 (750 milliliter) bottle your favorite red wine
* 1/2 cup triple sec
* 1 lemon, sliced into rounds
* 1 orange, sliced into rounds
* 1 lime, sliced into rounds
* 1/4 cup white sugar (optional)
* 8 maraschino cherries (optional)
* Add or substitute fruit as available
* Sub rum if desired for brandy or go half and half
* Add peach schnapps or sub for triple sec or half and half
* 2 cups ginger ale or 7-up

Mix everything but the ginger ale in the picther and put in the fridge for at least 6-8 hours. The flavors really mature the longer it sits. Add ginger ale if desired just before serving.

Ammendment to orginal review below: on 4/3 (about a month after buying it), the pitcher cracked...Amazon is replacing it, so hopefully it won't crack again. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt that I got a bad one; if the next one breaks, I'll change my ranking/review:

We bought this Feb. 2008 for $19.99 as part of the buy 3, get 1 free promo. This set comes with a glass pitcher that holds approx. 10 cups (80 oz or 2.5 quarts) and 6 glasses (holds approx. a little more than 1 cup/8 oz).

You can't use boiling water to make iced tea with this and it's NOT dishwasher safe.

We just wanted a glass pitcher (getting rid of all plastic in the house) and the bonus were the glasses. It's a great deal, especially when you see what buying a pitcher a-la-carte costs. What made it an even better deal was combining it with my other needed kitchen item purchases via the amazon "buy 4 for 3" promo.

Ordering tip: if you're going to buy a bunch of items, split them in separate orders and put all the lower priced items together so you can get (at least) one of the more expensive items for free. By doing so, I got one $18 item free, instead of two $3.99 items free. Of course, just make sure both shipments are more than $25 for free S&H. I just made sure I bought some other needed items that weren't part of the promo! These 4-for-3 deals are AWESOME, especially when combined w/ FREE S&H and no sales tax! Way to go Amazon!

I really like the glasses in this set and have received several compliments on them! I use them often for brunches and often serve Italian sodas, mimosas, sangria and juice in these glasses. The pitcher would be much nicer if the seem was not so obvious and uneven. I read the other reviews and thought "how bad could it be?" It is pretty bad, but at this low price I'm okay with it.

Recently, I purchased this sangria set from Amazon and am very happy with the quality of the pieces. The pitcher is nice and heavy and well-balance for pouring. The glasses have a very attractive shape and feel very smooth when holding, with no seams or bumps for your fingers to touch. I can't wait to use the set again.

I am extremely happy with my purchase.

The set looked so good on the picture that I just *had* to have it! It arrived in perfect condition (nothing broken or missing), and the glasses are pretty and durable /we use them daily!/. The pitcher, however, is very uneven /the handle is not aligned with the spout/ so it makes it hard to use.
That being said, I do not regret getting this set at full price, and would order again in a heartbeat for the current 30% off price at Amazon -- just for the glasses.

I bought this for my fiancee a year ago, and we still use it every other week. The glasses and the pitcher that come in this set are high quality, and have gone through our dishwasher time and time again without breaking. I recently bought it again as a christmas gift for someone else. Definitely recommend this product.

I can't say enough about this set! I bought it to have around for entertaining company for barbecues, weekends and whatnot. I figured it could be used for everything from Lemonade to Sangria, Iced Tea, or cocktails. This arrived and was packed well, all the pieces were intact with no damage whatsoever. Nice large pitcher, as another reviewer posted, it does have a seam up the front of the pitcher, but it doesn't detract from the pitcher itself. I am very pleased with my purchase and for $19.99 for a pitcher and 6 glasses is a great deal. Several people who have seen mine have mentioned that they plan on purchasing a set.

love the pitcher but one of the glasses started chipping at the top after one use...

I was originally looking for a large glass pitcher to serve lemonade when guests come over. This is such a good find at Amazon and now I used it for every drink that I can serve cold. This set looks great at any party or table setting. The glasswares are not thin like others and sturdy. It is classy and looks a lot better than the plastic containers. It also comes with 6 nicely shaped glasses and sometimes I use them to serve desserts and icecream soda. This is a very versatile glass set and the price is right. I am happy with this purchase and would recommend this product.
