These are extremely durable glasses as others have already noted. They are heavy and thick. If you were to drop one on the floor, your first concerns would be about your tile and getting your feet out of the way, rather than worrying about the glass. As for the dishwasher, these ones are ok, but the larger ones can be a problem with older machines.

Pricing: These, and other genuine Libbey glasses, are almost always available at dollar stores. We have purchased several in this style with different sizes; most are the 22oz size. Regardless, they are there, and they are inexpensive. Be sure to look for the cursive "L" on the bottom or "Libbey". They sometimes have similar glasses that scratch easily, are far less clear, and generally do not hold up as well.

Our glasses still look exceptional after many years of use. We also get people asking where we got them and commenting on how "industrial" they are. If your local dollar store does not have these, they are still well worth the price, especially with free shipping.

I love these glasses. Not only do they look great the 14 ounce is the perfect size for any beverage. They are durable enough for the dishwasher and for the little hands in our family. I am very happy with this style of glass.

I was lucky enough to find the 22 oz. glasses for .96 cents each, and they are very durable heavy glasses that will not break in the dish washer.
I bought the 14 ounce and 16 ounce glasses here at Amazon and they make a great set that I expect to get years of use from.
This set is a nice looking everyday set of glasses, but you might want something a little more elegant for formal dinning.
If there is something I don't like about them it would be that the 14 ounce glass is somewhat short, and it would have been nice if they where an inch or so taller. Other wise I think these are a very practical set that look nice and will last for years.

Our family has been using these Libbey Gibraltar glasses for years. The design is classic and the quality is top-notch. They are nice and heavy, so they are less prone to being tipped over by kids or pets. The ridges help hands of all sizes keep a good grip on the glass. And they stand up to washing after washing in the dishwasher. Another reviewer said not to stack them, but we've been stacking these glasses two-high (upside down) in our kitchen cabinets for years without any problem. I've seen the glasses for less at other stores (Bed Bath & Beyond, for one), but the convenience of ordering them online with free shipping from Amazon.com (I'm a Prime member) is very nice. I actually have a reserve supply of these glasses in the basement, just in case of breakage. That's how much we like them! Highly recommended.

We've broken our way through nine of 12 of these purchased a couple years ago. (We have stone floors, clumsy elbows, and toddlers.) I'm buying more of these attractive, lead-free (Libbey confirmed this in personal correspondence), reasonably priced glasses because they fit their intended use beautifully -- good fit in your hand, good capacity for most beverages, easy washing in the dishwasher without clouding up or scratching. They're simply a solid value.

Used to have this kind of glass way back during the 60s when I was in the grade school. Back then, they just call it Duralex. Another brand with the same quality was, Arcoroc ( French made).We used to sell them in our store and used it at home too. You can use them for both, hot and cold water. They only break like your windshield when it hits a hard surface like concrete. Otherwise, it would last for years.

We've gone through a couple sets of these over the years. Every time we get to the point of the glasses showing their age or we've broken a couple, we go buy some more of these. The glasses look great and have a build quality you just don't find in similar items. We like the 14 oz. size, but use the 12 oz. and 7 oz., also.

The glasses have a feel to them that speaks to their quality. The best comparison I can think of is the glasses used by many bars and restaurants. In fact, I'm sure they are the same glasses in a lot of cases.

These glasses are beautiful and are not fragile. They seem very durable. The whole family loves them especially my children, they say they are very cool and love the different shapes inside. They are never hot to the touch even when they have very hot coffee inside.

Didn't have glassware to begin with and found Libbey's glassware site. I contacted them via email asking where to buy these and they sent me a link to Amazon. Got them out of the box. They are nice and heavy and good for an old fashion or a shot of morning juice (obviously not all 14oz) lol. Best part: I'm a guy and can get my big ol' hand in the glasses to wash them. Not to mention they are made in the USA - keeps fellow Americans employed.
