These are extremely durable glasses as others have already noted. They are heavy and thick. If you were to drop one on the floor, your first concerns would be about your tile and getting your feet out of the way, rather than worrying about the glass. As for the dishwasher, these ones are ok, but the larger ones can be a problem with older machines.

Pricing: These, and other genuine Libbey glasses, are almost always available at dollar stores. We have purchased several in this style with different sizes; most are the 22oz size. Regardless, they are there, and they are inexpensive. Be sure to look for the cursive "L" on the bottom or "Libbey". They sometimes have similar glasses that scratch easily, are far less clear, and generally do not hold up as well.

Our glasses still look exceptional after many years of use. We also get people asking where we got them and commenting on how "industrial" they are. If your local dollar store does not have these, they are still well worth the price, especially with free shipping.

I have purchased these glasses before. They are really tough and great for a family that is not always careful glasses. Yes this is great for everyday. I bought these and added to my "older" ones. They with stood the family so I purchased them again. They are not only very good but also classy, pretty glasses you can use any time. But is great they can last for every day and your table is set prettily. Oh yes, the men like the feel in their hand. Women notice these things but not always men. Easy to grip.

They are the best! They don't leave a puddle of water when turned over in the dishwasher, they are very durable, very attractive, and I highly recommend them! They were delivered fast and packaged very well.

Buy them because they are very good. Nice to handle and resist heavy usage.

I love these glases and have them in other sizes.I have tried replacing them with others that look the same,but are made by different companies(one being IKEA)and they have all broken in the dishwasher.I wanted the Libbey glasses and wasted time and money going out looking for them until I tried Amazon.These are great heavy,solid,durable,drinking glasses.P.S.I also get a kick when I see them on tv shows,like Desperate House Wives.

We love these glasses and keep buying more. We have them in 3 different sizes, and they hold up to constant use and abuse--just don't stack them together (they will break then).

These are awesome everyday glasses. They are nice and tall, and hold the right amount of iced water, soda, tea, etc. I purchased the 12 oz. rocks glasses at the same time, and the two sizes complement each other really well.

I happen to like the look, which is pretty utilitarian, like glasses in a really nice diner.

While they feel nice and heavy in the hand, they do feel a bit awkward, as if they're not weighted properly. I haven't had one tip over yet, so maybe it's an irrational fear.

Altogether, a solid choice in everyday glassware.

These great, heavy, restaurant-style glasses. They are an excellent value. They look nice, are a good size, have a nice feel in the hand, go with most dishes, and, so far, are holding up. With super-saver shipping, they were $17 less than having them sent from Target!

These are the exact same glasses sold at Wal-Mart as open stock for .97 each. Check it out before you order. They ARE durable and at that price you don't cry if one gets broken :). I have a cabinet full and they are great for iced tea or just a big glass of water.

Other than the one that was defective when I first received them, the 11 remaining are still in perfect condition after nearly 2 1/2 years of heavy use and trips through our dishwasher. There is not a single crack, chip, or discoloration. I've had these so long I don't even remember what was wrong with the 12th one. Amazon refunded me for that one (1/12 the full purchase price) so I was happy. I put 6 of these in our cupboard for daily use and the remaining 5 in that hard-to-reach cupboard above the fridge as replacements in case one of the 6 was damaged. Going on 2.5 years later, the 5 backups are still where I put them; I have had no need for them.

I noticed some of the comments here about breakage and I can't believe those are the same glasses I received. These glasses seem nearly indestructible unless they are perhaps dropped onto a hard tile floor. They are thick and utilitarian -- some seemed to think they are unattractive, but I like their diner/retro/1950's soda fountain appearance.

I selected these because not only do I like the way they look but I tend to drop things and I thought the multi-edged shape would be easy to hang onto, both for my small hands and my husband's large ones. I was right. They feel good and secure in my hands. I also bought the 7-oz juice glasses and I have had the same positive results with those. I'm am shopping now for a slightly larger size, the 22-oz ice tea glasses.
