'Head's Up' to Potential Purchasers of this product: I ordered the Moderno dinner plates, salad plates and cereal bowls (36 of each). The quality of the items is fine, but the way Target packaged them for shipping was so poorly done it was laughable, really. In a nutshell they sent three huge boxes and didn't place any materials in the boxes to protect the smaller boxes containing the glass from moving around and getting damaged during shipping. So, of course, many of the pieces arrived 'in pieces'. What were they thinking???? So, if you order this item and end up with the same brainless guy handling your shipment as I did, be prepared for receiving broken plates and bowls.

Packaging was extremely thorough, would have been hard for any to break.

Plates are very nice. For less than $3/plate an excellent value.

Ordered these via Amazon for less than half the price selling for locally. Item arrived quickly, well packed and zero breakage. Clear glass goes with anything - perfect for summer or when need extra plates to extend a regular set without clashing. Dishwasher safe. Very pleased.

Received the plates in 2 days. The plates are great!!!! I guess they used to be made in the USA, but now are made in Mexico. Packaging was horrible!!!! The tape was coming off the box. One plate was broken. I chose not to send it back, because of the hassle. I hope Amazon can remedy the poor packing.

I purchased these dinner plates and I am very happy with the quality. They all came nicely packaged from Amazon and not 1 plate was broken. The reason I was looking for glass dinnerware is because I learned that most colored dinnerware has LEAD in it. The LEAD is found in the glaze that is used on the plate to make it look colorful and also if the dinnerware has any pattern there is usually LEAD in it as well. Most dinnerware from MEXICO and CHINA are the ones that have the highest amounts of LEAD. I also read that if your dinnerware is not Microwave safe, it has LEAD. Lead reacts to microwave heat and the plates will get very hot to the touch while the food stays cool. LEAD is very dangerous for young children even in small amounts. I did not want my children eating off plates that have LEAD in them that could get them sick. There is tons of information on the internet about SPECIFIC companies that are known to use these TOXIC glazes, so read up and then make your decision. The Libbey Company assured me that the glass dinnerware is FREE of LEAD and is dishwasher and microwave safe.

The box of 12 is just right. But be wary -- these are very heavy dishes! The Dinner Plates are not oversized, so they fit in the cabinets without a problem.

Fantastic dishware. I bought these bowls, dinner plates, and saucers last month and am very happy I did. Granted the dishware I've used for the past 10 years had pink flowers all over them (so any change is a welcome change) but this set is just what I was looking for. The stickers that are on each piece are fairly annoying (especially with three sets of dishes), but a bit of "Goo Gone" got excess gunk off easy enough.

The plates are very well shaped. I originally thought the raised sides were a bit excessive, but I find it actually holds items on the plate a bit easier that way. With the clear look, they fit in with my brown toned kitchen/bar area and my red toned dinning room (with a black tablecloth) easily, there's no panic trying to find a dish color to match all 3 shades.

Only thing negative I can say is that it's easy to see fingerprints on them. But that's more of a personal thing (my fingers are notorious for leaving prints on everything), and it's not like other dishware is finger print proof, you just won't see it as easily as you would with the clear dishware. As far as shipping, I have had problems with Target shipping me Libbey items intact, but fortunately Amazon was the shipper and each of the 36 piece arrived flawless.

I ordered these plates because they had a clean modern feeling and were both dishwasher and microwave safe. I emailed the manufacture to check and they stated they were microwave safe. However, I was disappointed when they arrived because one of them had a very large white inclusion in the middle of the glass. There was also a few others that minor imperfections in the glass. Because the product was relatively cheap for 12 plates, I decided to just throw away the one with the big white inclusion and keep the rest of the plates. But the quality is not what I expected.

I love these plates. They are so classy and can match with anything. The packaging is sturdy but, one plate did break upon arrival but I blame UPS. The plate also holds a lot of food.

These plates were what I thought I wanted. Simple, cheap, no design, no frills. I was thrilled when Amazon gave me free shipping, however that's where my satisfaction ended. These plates are fine for placing food on them, and for the dishwasher, however, two of them have already cracked and broken while re-heating food in the microwave. The first time surprised me and I thought that there must have been a flaw in that plate. When it happened the second time the same way, I realized that these plates are NOT well made and should not be placed in the microwave. I recall that both times occurred when the food wasn't hot the first time, and I hit the microwave for another minute. Both plates' outer edge cracked ALL the way around and separated from the base. What a shame that glass would break in the microwave. As a result, I do NOT recommend these plates, and now have 10 instead of 12, whose usage is very limited to me.
