This is one of the "small spaces" books that angers me. I have this irrational anger with these books because these rooms are NOT small. If you have room to put a sofa and full sized bed in a bedroom it is NOT a small bedroom! If you can fit 2 night tables, tv stand and chair with ottoman in a room it's not small! Those are normal sized bedrooms. You can not put those things in a 10x10 bedroom and still walk around! I also think the decorating is very amateur, I feel most people could get their rooms to look like these (or better!) without the help of this book. I think it just had a cheap feel to it.

I live in a small apartment, and Libby Langdon's book has given me so many terrific ideas for giving my space more persoality. I have finally used paint to brighten up my boring white bathroom and living room and it has made a huge difference. I've also used fabric on a wall panel in my tiny dining area to cozy it up, and used floor to ceiling drapes in my bedroom to make it seem larger. This book is great because it gives such a wide variety of ideas, many of which don't cost a lot of money. It's all about knowing the "tricks of the trade," and Libby reveals all the great design secrets! Plus, she has a great personality, so you really enjoy reading the book.

I have a dozen books I'm using in re-decorating my apartment and this is my favorite. Disclaimer, I'm more comfortable with solid colors and open spaces than prints and cozy full rooms and so is Libby Langdon. She has gotten me over my fear of paint and given me great ideas of what I do need to add and what I already have that I can re-purpose. Her ideas on color and color combining, and furniture placements were very helpful.

I have spent the last 20 years in various spaces under 700 sq feet, and Libby knows ALL the tricks and taught me a few new ones. Her asthetic leans towards the polished and sophisticated while keeping warmth and comfort. She shows both average apartment before and afters and full "show" home decorating. There is something for most everyone here.

This is the perfect book for who lives in a small house. It gave me countless ideas of what to do and how to optimise storage without looking cluttered. You have to READ the book and not only look at pictures because most of the ideas are explained in detail. Of course you have to adapt to your needs, afterall, the author is not at your house giving a personal consultation.

Libby's tricks on how to use light, draperies, glass and mirrors are my favourites, they have done wonders for my little flat. I am thinking about one room at the time so, I am focused on different spaces and needs each time I read the book. I keep coming back and reading it all again and again. Each time there is a new finding that can fix a little problem that has been bothering me. Some chapters are divided by room use: bathroom, living room. kitchen, but if you live in a small space, those rooms are not always well defined so, read it all and adapt the ideas. I highly recommend it!

The biggest problem with people who buy books about decoration is that they expect to find THEIR houses pictured in the makeovers. That simply won't happen! If you don't read, and only look at pictures, you won't know what is behind the purpose of that picture and can miss important tricks that could be applied to your own house for your benefit.

It's okay. Not that great. The pictures are pretty low quality and the room designs are not that interesting. I expected more out of the book. I live in a small space and have about 20 small space books. This probably ranks 18 on my list.

This is a terrific book - so many clever ideas using things I already have but never would have thought of using in a million years. If you're short on space or are just looking for ways to increase your storage without breaking the bank, this is the book you need. Lots of really good pictures too. I really can come up with a plan with Libby's help. It's not that my space is that small,but the principles she uses,give me some ideas for getting it all straightened-out.

This book has some wonderful and simple ideas no matter what size your home is!

I added a small foyer and a bathroom to my house. I bought this book back in December and I used so many of her ideas. I'm thrilled with the end result.
