5.0 out of 5 stars Good Veggies at Your Front Door
Having a case of good veggies delivered to my front door is way better than lugging them to and from my car's trunk. These are a tasty blend of carrots, potatoes, peas, corn, green beans, celery, and lima beans, reminiscent of the medley in good canned vegetable soups. I'm eating more veggies. So, great taste, the Subscribe and Save pricing and front door delivery make...

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful!
We usually eat frozen vegetables, with the exception of canned green beans once in awhile. When I read the reviews on these, I thought it might be nice to have the convenience of just opening a can of the mixed for variety. Now, being a frozen vege eater, I wasn't expecting an abundance of nutrition in a can, but I was expecting them to be edible. These are not. Mushy...

Having a case of good veggies delivered to my front door is way better than lugging them to and from my car's trunk. So, great taste, the Subscribe and Save pricing and front door delivery make this a 5 STAR WINNER!

I usually use canned goods more in winter when fresh local veggies are out of season. The usual vegetable source strategy had FRESH as primary, Frozen secondary then CANNED. I was buying local and seasonally to decrease my carbon footprint UNTIL the salmonella and e.coli outbreaks scared me and have me resorting to canned goods year-round. Most often canned goods are heated to a temperature that kills most of the "bad stuff". The downside is canned goods have more added salt AND may be from genetically modified organism (GMO) sources. Adding to my "heebie-jeebies", so much is from China with dubious additives and standards. So I'm playing "foodie russian roulette" and betting on canned goods for now :)

FYI Seneca foods sells canned goods under the MANY recognizable labels including your local store brands, so don't be a label snob if you can help it!

I usually don't like the watered down cans of mixed vegetables, but these are packed full and the color looks so rich. I use them in soups and many other dishes. Delivered to my door when I schedule them and I also like to add just a little butter and flavor to them and serve as a side dish. Since I have been purchasing items on Amazon.com. I have realized Libbys has the best canned of any of the veggies.

Just awful....and now I'm stuck with 11 more cans. Yuk!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best mixed vegetables, September 23, 2011

Libby makes the best mixed vegetables I've ever bought in a can. Usually, everything in the can ends up tasting the same.. but not so with Libby's. The green beans taste like green beans and the potatoes aren't compete mush. That being said, the only gripe I have about this is that there are A LOT of carrots in these. Tons. More carrots than anything else. I personally don't mind, but my daughter doesn't like cooked carrots. I suppose she will have to get over it though, because I'm never buying another brand of mixed vegetables.. these taste excellent.

Libby's makes a consistently good product and I enjoy the mixed vegetables. I like to use them in making chicken pot pies or casseroles.

1.0 out of 5 stars If a movie, this would be subtitled: "Invasion of the Carrots!", January 12, 2012

How stupid do food corporations think their customers are? That's a rhetorical question, because it is all too evident. This is not the first brand of "mixed vegetables" that features on the can artwork, and on Amazon, a nice varied assortment of tasty vegetables, and yet when it arrives and you open that can, you almost need a flashlight, magnifying glass and tweezers to locate and remove anything that is not carrots or potatoes, which obviously must be the cheapest vegetable per-ounce for these companies to purchase. I prepare mixed vegetables, you know, actual mixed vegetables, with 3-bean salad on cold Rotelle pasta, with Italian dressing. I'm not going to try to return a case of 12 cans, but if I had known that even the proud and once trusted Libby's people were pulling this stunt, instead of my buying and trying to use these so-called mixed vegetables, I would have ordered just straight-up peas, corn, or whatever, which I could then hope would not show up at my door as mostly carrots and potatoes. Not that I don't like carrots and potatoes--but I just do not wish them forced down my gullet.

I've ordered these twice now. I use them on rice or with tuna. Get the subscribe and save price and that makes it even better. I don't think I would ever purchase this amount at the store so it is great to be able to purchase it here and have it delivered.

I know these are canned but I use these in soups and they taste like they are fresh out of the garden. The can is packed full not a lot of liquid. I have ordered twice all ready and will be buying more.
