More About the Author

Judy was born and grew up on a farm on the prairies of North Dakota. An only child, she spent most of her days with imaginary people--either those she read about or those she made up in her head. Her most ambitious conjuring did not succeed, however. She kept a clean stall with fresh hay and oats for the horse she imagined would arrive. Unfortunately it didn't come, at least not until she was an adult. After she was unexpectedly given three horses, she bought even more and began raising foundation quarter horses.

She graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota with majors in English and education and a minor in religion. At the time, she was simply studying what interested her, but now realizes that she was educating herself for her future career as a Christian writer. Her first book was written with a toddler on her lap. Judy would type a few words and say "Now, Jennifer." He two year old daughter would hit the space bar so Judy could continue writing. It was't the fastest way to work but it was a very cozy time.

In 2001 Judy became a certified professional life coach. In 2008 Judy completed her Master's program. She studied in the areas of writing and coaching. Now certified in three coaching disciplines, Judy coaches primarily professional and aspiring writers. She is also a faculty advisor in the Department of Human Development at St. Mary's University in Minneapolis, MN. She is married, lives in Minnesota, has two daughters and three step children.

She is the author of more than 75 books. She grew up in rural North Dakota and has done many of the things her Hilltop characters experience.

Do you like horses, adventure, and suspense? If you do I have the perfect book for you. Libby's Story is a great book for horse lovers and more! The authors name is Judy Baer. It is about a teenage girl named Libby and former policemen named Reese who was shot and paralyzed for life. Will their love of horses bring them together, or will they be miserable forever? Read the book and find out. This book reminds me of Heartland series, because of the characters and their love of horses. This book is realistic fiction and when you're done reading this book read the next book. I recommend this book this book to horse and adventure lovers. Hope you enjoy reading this book.

Although this book is a good start, Ms. Baer hasn't quite made the transition from young adult to adult fiction...yet...but she is close. What did I like? The story of 3 close friends as they make the transition into living true adulthood, focus on turning to God as a natural part of everyday life, the stories of the quilt pattern history, the incorporation of horse therapy, adoption of children who are older, etc. What didn't I like? The romance was forced at the end and sometimes the description was too long, losing my interest for a brief period. Overall, I would buy it again, but I am waiting for Ms. Baer's next novel!

This book was a good read. I liked it because it followed up on the other 2 books in the series and gave a good look into the character. I like the way that Judy weaves each persons personal struggles in life with their faith in Christ.

This is part of a three book series. The library had one book in the series, and we bought this book and the other book in the series. Good service.

My sister purchsed me a $20 pair of shorts at Libby Story in Jackson Mississippi whi h happened to be "on sale".
Unfortunately the didnt fit... not a big deal I thought I could exchange them. After driving two hours to the store I found out they didnt have my size in those particular shorts.. BUT I found a pair of $60 shorts that were not "on sale". Sounds like a great sell if I was the owner at Libby Story...Apparently thier uneducated employees who dont know the meaning on profit or loss didnt see it that way. They refused to give me the $20 credit for the shorts that I wanted to return. Therfore they lost the higher margin sale.... The staff was rude crude and anti-social. Dont order anything from Libby Story unless you are positive you will never need an exchange or refund even it it benefits their profits. What idiots.
