4.0 out of 5 stars Achad's Masterpiece
A lot has been said about Frater Achad and his relationship with Crowley. But most people miss the fact that Achad's Liber 31 was why Crowley renamed Liber L to Liber AL! As far as I can tell, this is the first annotated Achad book on the market. It has a great introduction and some of the footnotes are very useful-yet some make one ask what was the point? 1.0 out of 5 stars Boring
Greenfield reprints Achad's work and then tells his readers which passages from Liber AL Achad is citing. Not very original "scholarship."

As far as I can tell, this is the first annotated Achad book on the market. It has a great introduction and some of the footnotes are very useful-yet some make one ask what was the point? Overall it is a very important book in the Thelemic cannon and one any serious magician or Thelemite should have.

1.0 out of 5 stars Can't Greenfield get it RIGHT?, April 13, 2004
By
This review is from: Liber Thirty-One (Paperback)
Once again Allen Greenfield, alleged "occult scholar" bores his readers to tears with what he attempts to pass off as "original scholarship." Instead, he merely adds foot-notes to the text of Achad's work which do little more than annoy the serious occult student.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad Work At It's Best, April 3, 2003
By
This review is from: Liber Thirty-One (Paperback)
Can Greenfield ever get his "scholarship" right? When will he stop simply adding worthless footnotes and trivial minutia to the occult research pool and get down to some serious work? If you can find a free copy on-line, down-load and skip this piece of garbage-- nothing new here.
