Founded in March 2002, Patrick Cress, saxophones, conceived Telepathy out of his many influences, including Ornette Coleman and Tim Berne, who pay homage to the traditions of jazz while pushing musical boundaries. Graduating with a bachelors in music at the University of Michigan, Cress was schooled by Donald Waldens strict jazz theory and Donald Sintas brilliant classical mind. Out of this and an eighteen-year passion for music, Cress manifested these influences into a specific original concept.
Since its' inception, Patrick Cress' Telepathy has performed both nationally and internationally. The group has played for diverse audiences from San Franciscos Brunos and ODC Theater, Berkeleys Jazz House, to L.A.s the Mint, Santa Monicas Temple Bar to Portlands Mt. Tabor Theater and Vancouvers Sugar Refinery. The band plans another series of tours to Southern California and the Pacific Northwest to kick off the new year and promote their second album, "Liberate the radio stations."
