my dining table is 7 years old. i have about 5 faint white rings on the surface. i followed directions and cleaned the table as best i could before using the ring remover. the product added shine to the surface, but no, it did not remove the rings...oh well. i guess i can say it's part of my dining table's character.

We have a large 10 person dining table of dark stained wood my wife decided to make use for quilt making. There were numerous rings and marks from her beverages and from the steam iron. Even to the extent that you could clearly see the pattern of the sole plate of the iron. There were also a few circular scuff marks from something. This product did work, in some places completely, in others 90-95% effective. However, this is not a product you just wipe on and wipe off, you will have to rub and rub. I would recommend using a wax stripper before using this if you wax your table.

The product must contain an extremely fine abrasive to polish the surface, as well as, remove scuff marks. For the scuff marks rubbing across the grain was more effective. Letting the product sit on the mark for a few minutes while working on another spot was slightly easier. Since this table has a veneer top I did not let the product just sit for a long time for fear of loosing the glue under the veneer. I have a couple of spots where the steam iron loosened the veneer and I need to repair those. At that time I will work on removing the last of the very faint marks and refinish the top with a more durable top coat.

Is the product 100% effective? No. Was it effective enough that the table does not require refinishing? Yes. Do you really have to work at it? Yes. Is it more effective than other methods I have tried from my woodworking books? Yes. Will it remove dark marks set into the wood? No. Can you remove the shine caused by hard rubbing? yes, to dull the finish use a 0000 grade Synthetic Steel Wool.

Did not work for the white rings on my table, and they don't offer a satisfaction guarantee. I was told that the marks on my table must go deeper than the surface, even though I'm not really sure what caused my table to get rings on it, and had 2 tablecloths on at the time. For me it was a waste of time and money; but it was recommended by the furniture manufacturer, so it must usually work.
