Excellent CD, misleading description,

This album took me by surprise. It'a a lot more cohesive and solid than their first CD.
That said, the description is misleading. It says "two bonus tracks ('Don't Drop That Dime' and 'Re-Evolution') plus a bonus DVD featuring a documentary." What it doesn't say is that the bonus track, "Re-Evolution" is actually the DVD. So, it actually contains one bonus track and a DVD. I'd recommend grabbing the normal version if you are torn between the two

First off, this is truly a great album, I've never been a big fan of STP and Weiland, but I will give him credit, he did a great job on this one.
As for a Bonus Track? Well, if "Don't Drop That Dime" is the so called bonus track for this album, then it's way different than any of the copies I've seen.The regular copy sold in the United States has the song, it's just not listed as a track, it's on the back half of the track called "Gravedancer".That song is listed an 8 minute song, but it's only around 4 min, then the so called bonus track comes on right after.I was looking for a copy that had "Gas & A Dollar Laugh" and "Messages", those are 2 great songs worth looking into.

Nailed! NOW they sound like a band! This album is incredible. This album is going to be classic rock in 10-15 years. Scott brings a well needed 'grunge' vibe by not taking himself quite a serious as say Axl Rose or Cris Cornell. The producer kept more of a Punk rock vibe present to prevent the album from comming off as too "90's" and it works! Great sound, more then suiting to modern rock. Slashs guitar makes whole new sounds as he experimented a little, never loosing his firey bluesy style. The rest of the band really tie the album together, i think this time, you would notice if someone was missing.
This is one of the few albums ive heard in years that you can listen too striaght through- theres no need to skip a single song. Buy the Deluxe version for Physco Killer- it is well worth it as its deffinitly the best cover song ive heard them attempt and it really should have replaced Cant Get Her Out of My Head as the albums main-stay cover song, but all well, its out there. Also the Deluxe gives you the attached DVD, its short but its nice to see them in the studio.

Not perfect, by any means, but better than the first album. Having developed their sound - and the DVD helps. Giving one the chance to see them in action, as well as hear.

For shame, I was thinking of giving this album only four stars. But I just had to go the whole hog with this one for the following reasons;
Firstly the weird underlying optimism in the fact that the project got off the ground at all and that it had the legs to get to a second album - sure much of the music is downbeat in it's delivery and lyrical concerns at times but there is a real spark of hope here. Secondly the fact that the band have produced so many great riffs that span the slow burn style used on the couple of mellower cuts through to faster stuff for the rockers. The almost hypercharged boogie of some of these riffs is utterly irresistable. Third reason for me loving this is that you can play it all the way through. And the chorus work in some of the numbers is just brilliant, you don't have to be picky as there are a stack of great chorus' here just as there were on the debut. I will say in regards to this disc however that you have to be careful how it's marketed. There is a bonus DVD here and it's not all that thrilling. Weiland pretty much portrays himself as the unpleasant oik he is and it's not at all endearing. But I would still recommend getting the version with the DVD if it's for a similar price to the plainer version just for the pleasure of seeing Weiland make a tosser of himself. IMHO this is a five star album and I could go into specifics but we'd be here all day. If you are sitting on the fence about whether to buy this or not just do yourself a favour and pick it up.

Great, and even better they got rid of Weiland. HE was always the weakest link in the band. Now he can go back with the blowfest known as STP where he belongs. I cant wait for them to get a better singer, it was the only thing was always lacking!
