This is a 1/6 Shelby Cobra 427 FE Replica Engine! The 427 Shelby engine was a modified Ford 427 and was available in both street and racing versions. This replica is the racing variant as produced by Liberty Classics and includes actual moving parts and the following features: Operating starter motor, flywheel gear and pulleys, massive finned aluminum Shelby valve covers, plated dual air cleaners, racing exhaust headers, highly detailed carburetors, detailed fuel system that includes fuel log, fuel lines, pump & filter, full ignition wiring, and intake manifold breather hose. The authenticity of this replica has been confirmed by the Shelby Engineering Group.

I recently ordered this engine from Amazon and it was the only one of four engines that could be shipped here to "Down Under', why the others are not available is a mystery and is disappointing. Nonetheless, this model is a fantastic replica of the legendary Shelby Cobra 'Big Block'in all it's finite detail. Down to the embossing on the rocker covers, this model has it all. The engine comes fully assembled and everything from the original motor is faithfully replicated.

At 1:6 Scale, the detail is absolutely first class and should please any fan of this iconic motor.

You can almost hear the rumble through the exhausts...

Well done to the manufacturers, these models are sure to be a talking point in any bloke's shed, or on his desk.

I rate this the same as I have rated other engine models from Liberty Classics in this series:

I am quite happy with this model as I believe you get what you pay for. Mostly plastic parts and I am not sure the term I 'die-cast' applies (as most people associate die-cast with metal parts). Nevertheless it is, at least in my book, worth the $25 or so I paid for it.
