My gaiters arrived yesterday and my first impression was that they were very nice. Material seems very strong and the overall construction seems very good. Took them on a 3+ mile walk in a cold blowing drizzle this morning over wet pavement and very saturated ground. When I got home, my socks, boots and the cuffs of my pants were nice and dry. I was very pleased.

I did feel the need to make a couple very slight modifications to the gaiters for my own easy or use. I replaced the draw string at the top of the gaiter with a longer one. This allows me to tie them in front of my leg instead of behind. Makes it much easier to secure. I also replaced the strap the goes under the boot with a small bungee cord. I crimped the hook on one end of the bungee cord to the grommet on the inside of the gaiter so it is semi-permanently attached. Once the gaiter is on, I can hook the other side of the bungee cord into the grommet on the other side, and I'm off. Much easier than tying and untying the cord that came with the gaiters.

Works great.
I looked for a chip ankle gaiters in Amazon, I ordered them not expecting a lot, took them for a week hike in the mountains and discovered that this is an excellent item, kept in its place all the time, kept my Asolo Fugitive GTX clean inside and on the top, I put half my leg in mud and the inside of my boots were clean all the time. I highly recommend this item.

Only thing is that during your hike don't take them off because you need to really clean them before the zipper attaches again.

while the idea of this product is great and useful the actuality leaves much to be desired
the zipper in the back is a pain
the laces keep coming untied,, both those around the ankle and under the shoe
with some modification it could be a geat product and the price is right
if you are willing to sew velcro colosure on the front and forget the zipper and replace the laces
it is worth it,, otherwise don't bother good luck
