I don't think I was the target audience for this book. But as a political independent, I should be. And I recommend Liberty Rising to all intelligent Americans interested in the history of the political movement(s) in this country over the past 100 years. This is a well-researched, informative account of how the author believes our liberties have been eroded little by little since the Forefathers wrote the Constitution. His goal is, without a doubt, to help oust the current administration and members of congress due to an abuse of power (particularly citing the Health Care Reform Act) and promote tea party candidates; however, after reading the book cover-to-cover, one can't help but be impressed with the strong evidence he cites to support his claims.

I was asked to read Liberty Rising by someone I respect--even though we don't necessarily share the same political beliefs. After reading the promotional blurbs on the covers and even the first chapter, I thought it was going to be just another right-wing, democrat-hating conservative on a rant to take back the country from the current `socialists' or progressives in charge. I thought, do we really need another Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh or Laura Ingraham? Isn't Robert Bonelli just preaching to the choir?

I'm glad I stayed with it. It was a thorough history lesson often quoting the Bill of Rights, the Amendments to the Constitution and a variety of historical political writings and speeches. In addition, Bonelli taught me more about the tea party movement than anything I'd learned from the mainstream media.

Robert Allen Bonelli has written a powerful book that exposes how our country's economy and our liberty are under assault from the progressive socialists currently in power. This book is a must read prior to the 2010 and 2012 elections.

Mr. Bonelli effectively uses American history and an examination of our Constitution to factually detail how our economic strength and major portions of our liberty have been slowly bled over the past 100 years.

This book should be read by every single American.

An excellent, thought provoking read.

I love the timeliness of the subject matter, but in a real way the concepts of our freedom are timeless. I personally hope we can all rise above the political noise for a moment to consider what is and has happened to our liberty and how we can regain it.

Mr. Bonelli has hit the nail on the head with this treatise. Using factual history he explains why America is where it is today and how we have let our government slowly chip away at our liberty for the past 100 years. This powerful text inspires you to do your own research and take a closer look at our political leaders.

Everyone should read this book regardless of political affiliation.

A well written account of the history of our country, educating the reader using facts, along with a bit of wit, making it easy to understand his views on where we are and how we got here. Both thought provoking and informative, this book provides solutions and motivates the reader to learn more so they may make a well informed decision prior to casting their vote.
