Mr Jelly telling it like it was,

The re-mastered sound is an enormous improvement over the older copy I have. Very good indeed! Morton was an irascible, contradictory genius. He had a lot of trouble just getting along with other musicians and record company people. This limited his output and certainly hurt his popularity and bottom line. Yet he was a pioneer in composition and arrangement, a marvelous player and singer, and while his struggles to get paid the royalties he was due probably made other companies leery of working with him, his efforts certainly helped later artists get a better deal. If you like his music, read a biography and by all means listen to his stories on the Library of Congress recordings. An unforgettable character and a major figure in jazz history.

Shocking!,

From the first second, one cannot help but be amazed at the sound quality of this disc. It is light years ahead of any previously released Jelly Roll material. If you love the master, this is a treasure you'll want to hear.
