Great book to add to any worship collection.
I have used this book in 3 of the last 5 Worship Services. We are just starting a "Casual Service" using more of the Contemporary Songs and this has proven to be a solid investment.

Somewhat Contemporary
This is a good collection of Christian songs, but I'm left wondering how to understand the designation "Contemporary". Does "Contemporary" refer to how recent a song is, or does it refer to a particular musical style? One song in this book is as old as 1980. This is a good collection of Christian songs, but I'm left wondering how to understand the designation "Contemporary". Does "Contemporary" refer to how recent a song is, or does it refer to a particular musical style? One song in this book is as old as 1980. Although there are some songs with a date of 2007, many of the songs were written in the 1990's. Now, there are many fine songs in this book. Many of them have become (or are becoming) "classics" in the world of Christian music. However, if you are looking for a collection of the most recent Contemporary Christian Songs to be written, then you might want to look elsewhere.

I am so pleased with this collection of songs. I love the plastic ring binding for keeping the book open on the piano or organ. I found many songs I was looking for and they're actually in my vocal range (bass/baritone).
