Product Description

Size:370-Feet

Librett Durables Butchers Twine is a must-have in cooking supplies for food preparation and special cooking techniques. Trussing a chicken secures the wings and legs for easier handling when brining or using a marinade. Trussing stuffed meats, like Italian braciole or holiday turkeys, keeps them moist and intact during the cooking process. Use the Butchers Twine to form a beef tenderloin roast, a crown roast of pork, or secure a bacon wrapped filet mignon. Use when cooking rabbit meat, quail, venison, and other wild game. It’s an essential of butcher supplies for charcuterie, the art of sausage making and preparing cured meat, preserved and smoked meats. Keep twine next to the meat grinder when making sausages. After filling the sausage casing, tie it up to secure the meat and seasonings inside. Made from 100% all-natural cotton, Librett’s Butchers Twine is food safe and oven safe and fully biodegradable and compostable. Proudly made in the USA. Not intended for direct exposure to flame, like grilling.

I went to just about every grocery and drug store I could think of looking for string. Why does this once common household item no longer exist? When I finally found it on Amazon I was elated. String at last! This is the same cotton string your mom had in her junk drawer oh so many years ago. Good and strong. I used it to lengthen the pull sting on a closet light. It was perfect for this. Get some and stick it in your junk drawer.

I bought this twine to truss chickens and other cooking uses. So far, after one use, I've had no problems with it. The twine withstood roasting a chicken at 450° for 60 minutes.

Got this to fill up to free shipping. Works great on all the chickens I tie up, which is about 2 a year and a couple other trussing jobs I use it for. At this rate, the ball will likely last well into the next decade. Does not burn, even with the oven blazing at 450 for an hour or so.

Rather than buying some expensive twine keeper, I just inverted a small terra cotta flower pot with a hole in the bottom on top of the ball. This has a convenient dispensing hole for the twine and is heavy enough to keep the ball secured. In theory, the clay might also absorb ambient humidity to keep the twine from getting moldy as well.

Had looked for this locally, price at grocery and hardware store was ridiculously high for amount of twine. This ball has enough twine to last nearly a lifetime for a great price. I use it regularly for trussing chicken and sizing roasts to put on spit roaster. Twine holds up well, does not burn off. I used an empty plastic container from a bird supply store in which a large block of suet came in to house the twine and keep it clean. Punched a hole in the top and thread twine out through hole then cut off what I need. Keeps raw chicken gunk away from the ball.

It's cooking twine after all.
Works great, doesn't have any coloring or anything like that so it is good for food items. Plus it is biodegradable.

This is 100% cotton twine and it is biodegradable. This twine is appropriate for any job in the kitchen, whether you need to truss a turkey or tie a lamb's leg. Since it is cotton--which most butcher's twines are--you must keep it away from an open flame. This particular spool gives you 350 feet of twine, which is enough to last a year, or for a casual cook it could last for several years to come.

I'm a hard core BBQer and often smoke pork/beef for long periods of time in my smoker. After the previous twine I purchased snapped on me easily after cooking, I was looking for something more durable for my needs. This does the trick. I tied this cooking twine to a few pork shoulders and smoked the meat for 14 hours in my smoker. The string held up incredibly well, even after hours in the smoker at 225 degrees. Sure you can find some cheaper twine out there, but do yourself a favor and pay a little bit more for this durable twine.

I use this to truss chicken for roasting. Works well, no complaints, would and probably will buy again - 185 feet will last me a while.
