4.0 out of 5 stars classic 80s pop, March 1, 2004

This review is from: License to Drive (Audio CD)
From one of the funniest movies ever to hit our screens in the late 80s comes the very hard to find but enjoyable soundtrack to LICENSE TO DRIVE.

Everything you expect from an 80s soundtrack is here -

BREAKFAST CLUB's rendition of "Drive My Car" starts the collection nicely and smoothly runs into Brenda K. Starr's excellent Jellybean produced song "Sweet Surrender"
Other gems on the album include music by Billy Ocean, Belinda Carlisle, New Edition, Slave Raider. There are two songs on this album that were not featured in the movie - "Time Starts Now" by the Boys Club & "One More Dance" by Johnathan Butler. Despite their absence from the movie they still add a nice touch to this 80s soundtrack!

The only downside to this album is there seems to be a lot of songs missing that were featured in the movie - most notably "Trouble" by Nia Peeples, "Mercedes Boy" by Pebbles, "Rush Hour" by Jane Weidlin and the classic "That's Life" by Frank Sinatra which, although not an 80s song, was featured in one of the most memorable scenes of an 80s comedy involving a drunk driver.

Nevertheless a superb soundtrack peppered with 80s pop hits
