The recipes were compiled by Gerry Kangas of Aurora, Minnesota. She has been an avid cook since she was a girl. With her husband she owned and managed a board and lodging home for over twenty years. The front cover depicts a Minnesota license plate depicting a lake and forest scene, illustrated by Diane Heusinkveld and designed by Dana Lumby.
